Created page with confirmed titles, role in the 1454 collapse and underworld associations
Balor is the demon god at the centre of Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, and the reason the story starts where it does. In the Dagdan year 1454, five years after the Heroic Games, he returns and the land of Dagda faces its end at his hands. Everything the player does afterwards, in both eras, is an attempt to undo that outcome.

Almost nothing else about him has been published. He has no announced voice credit, no shown portrait, no class and no stat block. What exists is his function in the plot and the imagery that travels with him, which is enough to make him legible without filling in the blanks.
The August 2026 presentation opens on his side of the story rather than on the tournament. Over shots of a burning city, a voice invites the audience to "celebrate the second birth of this world's rightful ruler, at the advent of the underworld". That framing is the key to the character: this is not an invasion by an outside army but a return by something that considers the world already its own.
By the time the ruined era begins, Dagsion has fallen. An underworld gate has opened in the capital, the streets have become a hunting ground for shades, and survivors fight the risen dead in the wreckage. The four Heroes who mattered at the Games five years earlier have vanished, in Nintendo's own wording, which is why the counter-plan involves reaching back into their pasts rather than calling on them directly.
Balor is listed as the divinity tied to curses as well as to the underworld, and the two threads run through the game's systems as well as its story. The new Curse column on the weapon table, the cursed artefacts several characters carry, and the underworld flames that the Blaze Arts of Cai leave on the battlefield all point back to the same source. The character list also links him to the crest known in Dagda as the Diadem of Duality, though that connection is drawn from pre-launch material rather than from a shipped description and should be treated as provisional.
His side of the field carries a named defensive skill, the Underworld Boon, which reduces the damage his units take. Volunteering at the temple of Aurora grants a blessing that can strip it for a turn, which is the clearest mechanical link the game has shown between the temple system and the endgame enemy.
Balor in Irish myth is the leader of the Fomorians, a race of hostile supernatural beings, and the most formidable among them. The name is left unchanged in Spanish, French, German and Italian; Korean renders it 발로르 and Traditional Chinese 霸羅爾.
