The Demon Hunter is a merchant introduced with the Nightling Update, and the role is filled by a line of NPCs the game calls Demon Huntresses. They are the one place to spend the unique currency earned from the Rifts. Where ordinary merchants deal in gold, these vendors only take the spoils of the demon invasion. Two are named so far: Zoey and Rumi.
What the Demon Hunter Sells
The Demon Hunter's stock is built around the Rifts. Clearing the world event unlocks access to a distinct set of demonic gear and upgrades that cannot be found anywhere else.
Category | What It Covers |
|---|---|
Weapons | A line of demonic weapons unique to the Demon Hunter |
Gear sets | Unique demonic armor sets |
Spark crystals | Crystals used to power up your build |
Demonic upgrades | Brand-new upgrades tied to the Rift rewards |
Cosmetics | |
Spark Dusts | Sold by Zoey in exchange for Demonic Souls, added shortly after the update went live |
Rift Currency
The Demon Hunter is paid in the resources the Rifts hand out, banked as Demonic Souls, Nightblood, and Soulstones. Closing more gates during a Rift earns more of this currency. Soulstones also have a use out in the world: they summon tougher Nightlords in hidden corners of Siagarta. For gear and the wider economy, see Gear, Items and Economy.
Named Demon Huntresses
Name | Notes |
|---|---|
Zoey | Named in the July 17 patch as the Demon Huntress who trades Spark Dusts for Demonic Souls |
Rumi | A second Demon Huntress present in the game's data |
Buying anything from a Demon Huntress unlocks an achievement, so the vendors are part of the Rift completion track rather than a pure convenience stop. See Achievements for the rest of that category.
