Companions are the collectible critters of Farever. They follow you around the world of Siagarta as purely cosmetic pets, with no combat role, and they come in themed families with color and elemental variants to track down and collect. The current Early Access build has 73 companions to find, up from the 60 that shipped at Early Access launch.
Companions are part of the cosmetic collection layer rather than your power, so chasing them is about completionism and personalizing how your character travels. Some can be earned in the world and others are tied to the cosmetic shop covered on Cosmetics and the Shop.
Companion Families
The 73 companions sort into ten critter families, each with several colour variants. Most families include a Sparkling variant, which is what the game's shiny-capture achievement is looking for. The table below lists every companion grouped by its family.

Collecting Companions
Because companions are cosmetic, collecting them does not change your stats or skills, only your look. They sit alongside Mounts and Gliders as the main collectibles you gather while working through the world. For how exploration surfaces these rewards, see Exploration and Traversal.
The Demon Families
Two of the ten families were not there at launch. The Demodoggos and the Raminiatures arrived together in the June 23, 2026 patch, thirteen critters between them, and both lean on the demon theme that the Nightlings brought with them. They are the reason the collection target moved from 60 to 73, so a completion list written before that patch is short by two whole families.
