Ambulis

Initial version (2026-09-15)
Ambulis is the third revealed region of Eternal Anima and the only one shown on solid ground. It is described as a land cradled in rich nature whose people prize mutual aid and harmony and live off its bounty. It is also the only region whose cast the official site divides explicitly by era, which makes it the clearest published window onto how the game's two time periods relate.
The Japanese name is アンブリス and the Traditional Chinese is 安布芮斯. The English form Ambulis is the official site's own URL slug for the region rather than a name printed in official English, since the English site carries no world section at all. Other readings of the kana are possible, so the spelling should be treated as provisional in the same way as the cast names covered in Characters.
The published description gives a settled, slow-moving society. Its people prize mutual aid and harmony and live off the land's bounty. Technological development is explicitly slow, and old lore and traditions are kept alive, chief among them the prayer ritual conducted by the Guardian of the Forest.
That slow technological development is worth reading against Urvis Ael, where progress is not slow but criminal, and against Port Azurea, where residents live off salvaged relics of an older and more advanced age. The three revealed regions each stand in a different relation to change, which lines up with the stated themes of inheritance and evolution described in Story.
森の守護者, the Guardian of the Forest, is a hereditary role that conducts a prayer ritual, and it is the single most developed institution in any of the revealed regions. The Traditional Chinese materials write it 森林守護者.
Two characters hold it across the two eras. In the past it is held by Rubin, chief of Tarini Village, who honours tradition and is credited with protecting the village's nature and its people's lives for many years. In the present it has passed to Mayaca, a girl who has inherited the mission, is versed in herb compounding and the art of prayer, and is weighed down by the name of her great ancestor after days that never go as she hopes. Official copy does not say what the prayer is for, what it is addressed to, or what happens if it fails.
タリニ村, Tarini Village, is the only named settlement in Ambulis and the home of all five characters filed under the region. It is described as living in symbiosis with nature. It has a chief, held in the past by Rubin, and a youth corps, led in the present by Capuron. Nothing else about its size, layout or economy has been published.
The official site labels the Ambulis cast with era headings, splitting them into a past group and a present group. The other two revealed regions carry no era label at all, so the split is specific to this region as published.
Era | Character | Japanese | Role as published | Japanese voice |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Past | Martii | マルティ | A self-declared genius naturalist of Tarini Village, in discord with the man who raised him, who sets out to verify the old legends himself | 諸星 すみれ (Sumire Morohoshi) |
Past | Rose | ローズ | Rubin's biological daughter, raised alongside Martii like a sister and forever looking after him | のぐち ゆり (Yuri Noguchi) |
Past | Rubin | ルビン | Chief of Tarini Village and Guardian of the Forest, who lives by tradition and raised Martii | 船木 まひと (Mahito Funaki) |
Present | Mayaca | マヤカ | Martii's descendant, who has inherited the Guardian of the Forest role and cannot trust herself | 諸星 すみれ (Sumire Morohoshi) |
Present | Capuron | キャプロン | Leader of the village youth corps, a realist losing the ability to hope for Mayaca's success | 多田 啓太 (Keita Tada) |
Martii in the past and Mayaca in the present are stated to be ancestor and descendant, and the same actor voices both. That pairing is the concrete published example of a feature the English materials describe in general terms: teaming up with ancestors and descendants across time, and empowering allies with the abilities of their ancestors. The mechanics of that inheritance belong to Classes and Skills, and the structure of moving between the two eras to Time Travel.
The generational friction is published in both directions. In the past, Martii is in discord with Rubin, the tradition-bound man who raised him, over the old legends. In the present, Capuron is losing patience with Mayaca, who has inherited Rubin's role. Official copy stops at those descriptions and does not say how either conflict resolves.
The story copy speaks of four lost continents; the official world navigation lists five region slots, of which Ambulis is the third. No official text maps one list onto the other, and Ambulis is never called a continent. World and Setting sets out why the two lists must be kept apart.
As of 15 September 2026 nothing states Ambulis's size, geography, borders, population, or what separates its past era from its present in years. Nothing states whether it has settlements other than Tarini Village, what the Guardian of the Forest prays to, or what catastrophe, if any, the region faces.
