DokeV is an in-development creature-collecting open-world action-adventure with no playable build yet. This page is a pre-release primer covering what is publicly known and how to follow along until the game is hands-on. For a wider summary, see the Overview; for the latest schedule status, see the Release Window page.
How to Follow Along
DokeV does not yet have a storefront page on any PC or console marketplace, so the usual advice to wishlist a game in advance does not apply here. Treat any third-party page that claims to host a wishlist or pre-order as inaccurate. Three reliable channels carry every official update:
Official press board
.
posts trailers, screenshots, and fact sheets on its corporate press site before they get mirrored anywhere else.
Official DokeV YouTube channel
. The studio uploads every gameplay reveal, music video, and developer update to the project's own channel. Turning on notifications is the easiest way to catch a new trailer as it lands.
Pearl Abyss earnings disclosures
. Quarterly shareholder calls are where the studio updates investors on scope, schedule, and rough timing. Concrete schedule statements surface there first.
What You'll Be Doing
Although nothing is playable yet, public trailers and developer interviews have laid out a clear core loop. The headline activities are:

Collect Dokebi
. Find, befriend, and store the game's signature creatures inside small prismatic discs that can be summoned on demand. See
.
Explore the open world
. Move freely through a seamless modern environment of cities, festivals, coasts, and rural landscapes. See
.
Fight in real time
. Combat is action-driven, not turn-based; the player wields stylized weapons while summoned Dokebi attack alongside them. See
.
Traverse with style
. Trailers show toy cars, jet-powered skateboards, inline skates, jet skis, bicycles, llama mounts, and parasol gliding for long descents.
Take part in social activities
. Lighter pastimes such as fishing, kite-flying, and beach mini-games sit alongside combat and traversal.
Confirmed Pillars
Four confirmed pillars give the strongest signal of what kind of game DokeV will be:
. The collectible spirit-creatures at the heart of the project, drawn from Korean folklore.
. A seamless, contemporary setting that emphasizes movement and discovery.
. Real-time action mixing player weapons with summoned creature abilities.
. The proprietary engine providing rendering, physics, and animation.
Story Setup
DokeV is set in a modern world quietly inhabited by Dokebi alongside ordinary people. The premise is rooted in Korean dokkaebi folklore, in which spirits can take form from everyday objects and household items. In the game's fiction the Dokebi live harmoniously with humans and draw their strength from human dreams. By exploring, befriending Dokebi, and joining them in fights, the protagonist sustains that link. No named protagonists or supporting cast have been disclosed, so any cast roster claimed elsewhere should be treated as speculation.
Status
DokeV is not playable yet. The studio's main team transitioned to the project in March 2026, immediately after shipping its previous open-world title, and leadership has estimated two to three years of additional development before completion. That figure is a rough planning horizon from the studio, not a committed launch date. Until a proper hands-on opportunity arrives, expect a slow trickle of trailers, screenshots, and earnings-call updates rather than playable demos. The studio's May 14, 2026 Q1 earnings letter formally confirms DokeV is in the pre-production stage, with updates to be shared as development progresses.
Pre-Launch Checklist
A short list of practical steps for staying current without falling for misinformation:
Follow the
press board for official media drops.
Subscribe to the official DokeV YouTube channel and turn on notifications for new trailers.
Watch the studio's quarterly shareholder calls for status updates on scope and schedule.
What Has Not Been Disclosed
To avoid filling blanks with speculation, here is what the studio has not yet shared: exact controls and default keybinds, demo timing, storefront launch and pricing, named human characters or NPCs, and the final platform list. Treat any source filling in those blanks as unverified until Pearl Abyss confirms the details on its own channels. The studio's history of set-piece reveals, headlined by the viral Rockstar music video, suggests further milestones will arrive as headline announcements.
