BlackSpace Engine

BlackSpace Engine is Pearl Abyss's in-house, next-generation engine. DokeV is one of the projects built on it, alongside Crimson Desert.

Role

The BlackSpace Engine handles the seamless open-world rendering, character and creature animation, and the high-fidelity environmental detail Pearl Abyss has shown across DokeV's trailers. Using an in-house engine also lets the studio tune the tech specifically for the scale and art direction it wants rather than inheriting limits from a licensed engine.
