Added the Hotfix 1.0.4 and 1.0.5 change lists, replaced the unconfirmed console performance-mode note with the shipped 60/40/30 graphics modes, and added a console builds caveat
The Blood of Dawnwalker released on September 3, 2026 and began receiving fixes the same day. This page tracks what has been published for the shipped game. Every itemised patch note published so far has been issued for the PC build; no equivalent note list has been published for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S, so nothing on this page should be read as describing a console patch unless it says so. The page is current to Hotfix 1.0.5 on September 10, 2026.
A day-one patch shipped alongside the release itself rather than after it. The studio described it as a further polish pass across the whole experience and did not publish an itemised note list for it, so most of the specific changes it carried are not documented.
One thing it did carry is documented, and it was the subject of a public reversal. A console gameplay trailer shortly before launch showed the game targeting forty frames per second, which was read as confirmation that sixty was off the table. The studio then stated that a performance mode had been in testing all along and that the results had arrived in time to commit to it, and it shipped in the day-one patch. The console graphics modes are therefore part of the launch build rather than a later addition.
Console | Performance | Balanced | Quality |
|---|---|---|---|
PlayStation 5 | 60 fps target | 40 fps target | 30 fps target |
Xbox Series X | 60 fps target | 40 fps target | 30 fps target |
Xbox Series S | Not offered | Not offered | 30 fps only |
PlayStation 5 Pro | 60 fps target | 40 fps target | 30 fps target, plus unspecified visual enhancements |
An earlier version of this page recorded the console performance mode as unconfirmed. That is now settled: it is in the shipped build. Note that the console storefront capability lists still declare no frame-rate capability for the game, which is a gap in the storefront metadata rather than evidence against the modes.
Released September 3, 2026 for PC, on launch day.
Change | Detail |
|---|---|
Farkas dialogue | Coen can talk to Farkas even after killing all of the characters standing around him, where the conversation had previously become unreachable. |
Tutorial escort | Lunka no longer gets lost while leading Coen during the tutorial. |
Uriashi blacksmith | The uriashi blacksmith can now craft a certain holy sword. See Equipment and Crafting and Saint Mihai. |
Controller input | Adjustments to controller dead zone, and to input problems that occurred while sprinting. PC only. |
The same note listed three problems the studio had confirmed but not yet fixed, along with the workarounds it suggested.
Issue | Suggested workaround |
|---|---|
Stuttering in Windowed or Borderless mode | Run the game in Full Screen. |
Crashing while compiling shaders | Update system firmware. |
Missing button remapping for a PlayStation 5 gamepad used on PC | None given at the time. See the next hotfix. |
Released September 4, 2026 for PC, the day after launch. It added DualSense controller support on the Steam build, which addresses part of the third known issue recorded in the previous hotfix.
Released September 9, 2026 for PC. This is the largest note list published so far. The studio led with stability, several quest-progression blockers, a bug that stopped players saving at all, frame-rate drops caused by outdated controller software, and torches that could grow uncontrollably.
Area | Changes |
|---|---|
Stability | Multiple improvements to the game's stability. |
Gameplay | Tutorial progress is no longer blocked when Voracious Bite is used too quickly. Coen no longer gets stuck inside certain houses with no way out. Crake can now talk to Coen during his training sequence. Dead characters can no longer start dialogues. Blocking is no longer disabled under certain circumstances. Saving is no longer blocked. |
Quests | Ocha no longer attacks Coen when guards attack her. Coen no longer gets stuck in a cave during Deep Down. A Murohn that could fail to spawn now spawns. One of the possible solutions to Hive and Seek no longer ends early. On the Run no longer causes an infinite load. A Lone Wolf's Hunt now shows its difficulty level correctly. A soft-lock after following Sara is fixed. Investigating the rag is now optional in Smoke and Ashes. A blocker in The Heart Wants What It Wants is fixed. |
Art | Coen and Iorgu now drink from their cups on low graphical settings, and a background asset that had been used by mistake was removed. |
Audio | Music no longer stops playing during the prologue. |
Miscellaneous | Connecting a controller with outdated system input software no longer causes frame-rate drops. Torches can no longer grow uncontrollably. Quality preset modifiers now apply properly. |
Plugin | Fixed problems with VSync while frame generation is in use. See Unreal Engine 5. |
Three of these lines are useful outside the patch itself, because they confirm content by name in the shipped build: Voracious Bite as a vampiric ability, Crake as a character Coen trains alongside, and a displayed difficulty level attached to individual quests.
Released September 10, 2026 for PC. A single change: improvements to the shader compilation pipeline, which the studio says can resolve stuttering for some players. That addresses the shader-related problems acknowledged back in the 1.0.2 note.
No 1.0.1 hotfix appears in the published feed. The jump from the launch build to 1.0.2 is what the studio published, and nothing on this page should be taken as evidence that an unlisted intermediate patch exists.
The console versions received the same day-one patch, and that patch is where the graphics modes above came from. Beyond it, no itemised console patch note has been published at any point. Where a fix listed above matters on console, that has not been stated either way, so this page does not claim it.
