Witch's Ring

Round-2 cleanup: typos, schema-leak vendor names, 'Bronze Coins' currency, regen unit phrasing
Witch's Ring is a Mythical ring accessory in Crimson Desert. A ring engraved with strange sorcery from the east, it carries an energy distinct from the magic found on the continent. Equipping the ring brings a peculiar sensation, causing all distracting thoughts to vanish.
The Witch's Ring is one of the most sought-after endgame accessories due to its high Attack Speed bonus. At maximum refinement, it reaches level 4 Attack Speed, making it one of the strongest rings for any build focused on fast weapon combos.

The Witch's Ring is obtained during Chapter 9: The Sage of the Desert, specifically at mission 124, Unwavering Steps. During this mission, Kliff visits the Spire of the Sun and solves mirror puzzles before entering the Abyss Nexus.
Inside the Abyss, you must defeat Goyen, a human enemy armed with a shield and sword. After completing this boss encounter and progressing through the objective, the Witch's Ring is awarded as a story reward. It cannot be missed if you progress through Chapter 9 normally.
The Witch's Ring is awarded automatically during Chapter 9 of the main campaign, specifically during the "Finin Blade Unwavering Steps" mission. Because it is a guaranteed story reward, every player will obtain this ring simply by progressing through the main questline. There is no optional step or hidden requirement; completing the mission grants the ring.
When fully leveled to +10 refinement, the Witch's Ring gives +4 Attack Speed. For players who have not yet reached Chapter 9, the Mark of Darkness ring is a strong alternative that provides the same +4 attack speed bonus at max refinement. The Mark of Darkness can be obtained much earlier by visiting Winmia Manor above Demeniss and solving a strongbox puzzle, so it serves as an excellent placeholder until the Witch's Ring becomes available.
This accessory can be upgraded through the Refinement System. Refinement increases the accessory's Attack and Attack Speed stats progressively. The base values at +0 are modest, but at +10 the ring provides a significant 3 Attack and 4 Attack Speed, making full refinement highly worthwhile.
Refining accessories requires Silver Ore and other precious materials obtained through mining. Prioritize upgrading the Witch's Ring early among your accessories, as the Attack Speed bonus directly translates to faster combo speed across all weapon types.
The Witch's Ring pairs exceptionally well with the Mark of Darkness ring. Both rings provide level 4 Attack Speed at +10 refinement, so equipping both gives a total of level 8 Attack Speed. Since the effective cap for Attack Speed is around level 5 (beyond which diminishing returns reduce the benefit), this combination far exceeds what is needed, though the excess ensures you stay at maximum speed even with build variations.
For a complete late-game accessory setup, combine the Witch's Ring and Mark of Darkness for Attack Speed, a Critical Rate necklace for doubled crit chance, and Movement Speed earrings for faster traversal.
The Witch's Ring is one of only two rings in the game that actually reaches the +4 attack speed breakpoint at refinement level 10. The other is the Mark of Darkness. Most other rings in Crimson Desert cannot reach this threshold even at maximum refinement, so upgrading those rings provides diminishing returns on attack speed compared to these two.
Warning: Be careful when choosing which rings to invest refinement materials into. Because the Witch's Ring and Mark of Darkness are two of the only rings that hit the +4 attack speed breakpoint, spending rare materials on other rings for attack speed is often a waste. Always check the maximum stat values of a ring at +10 before committing upgrade resources. The wrong choice cannot be reversed and the materials are lost permanently.
Together, the Witch's Ring and Mark of Darkness provide a combined +8 attack speed from equipment alone, which is more than halfway to the stat cap of 15. This frees up Abyss Gear slots for other stats like crit rate or raw attack damage rather than needing to dedicate them to attack speed.
The Witch's Ring unlocks during Chapter 9 of the main story as part of the Unwavering Steps quest line. The path to the ring is gated behind a two-stage mirror puzzle that players often miss on their first attempt, so it helps to know the sequence before heading in.
The walkthrough begins at the base of a tall tower reached during the Unwavering Steps quest. Before entering the tower, you must solve the first mirror puzzle on the outside of the structure. Rotate each mirror so the light beam travels across the surrounding platforms and reaches its target. Completing the outside puzzle unlocks access to the tower interior.
Once inside, a second mirror puzzle chain takes you upward through the tower, floor by floor. Each level adds a new set of reflector mirrors that you rotate to continue the beam toward the next floor. Solving every stage of the interior chain brings Kliff all the way to the top of the tower, which is the only way to trigger the next sequence.
At the top of the tower, the story transitions Kliff into the Abyss and delivers him to the Nest of Valor. This is where the boss fight for the ring takes place. Prepare consumables and a fully repaired weapon before triggering the transition because the fight begins almost immediately after you arrive.
The Nest of Valor encounter pits Kliff against a lone witch boss wielding a shield and sword. Treat it as a standard humanoid duel: block his committed swings, dodge the red-tinted heavy strikes, and punish after his combo finishers. Defeating him rewards the Witch's Ring directly into inventory as a guaranteed story drop.
The Witch's Ring is one of only two rings in Crimson Desert that actually reach the +4 Attack Speed breakpoint at maximum refinement. Paired with the Mark of Darkness, which also caps at +4 Attack Speed, the combination gives Kliff an 8 baseline Attack Speed value that applies globally. Unlike stats found on gloves or boots, which only apply to unarmed attacks, ring stats apply to every weapon in the game, which makes the Witch's Ring a permanent foundation piece: pick it up once, refine it once, and never replace it. Community accessory guides such as the Best Accessories Guide and the Boss Slayer Build Guide both list this ring as a mandatory foundation choice for any serious DPS setup.
Before you accept the quest reward prompt and leave the Nest of Valor boss room, take a short detour. Walk behind the boss, turn right, and enter the small side room tucked against the rear wall of the arena. Inside sits Fated Shadow, a one-handed sword that belonged to the boss. The sword is easy to miss because the game provides no marker, no tooltip, and no quest prompt for the pickup. Fated Shadow comes pre-slotted with Greysoul Howling (also transcribed in some community guides as Grace of Howling), a unique abyss skill that deals massive damage and is considered a top-tier finisher slot for boss-slayer builds. Because the side room is only reachable during this fight, missing it here means losing out on one of the strongest abyss skills in the game on your first playthrough.
The Witch's Ring is a story reward and cannot be missed. You will receive it naturally by playing through Chapter 9.
Prioritize refining this ring to +10 as early as possible. The Attack Speed bonus affects all weapon types and is one of the most impactful stats for combat effectiveness.
Level 5 Attack Speed provides the majority of the speed benefit. Going from level 5 to level 8 (with both rings) adds roughly 5-6% more actual attack speed. The gains are still real, but do not expect a dramatic difference beyond level 5.

The Witch's Ring is called out as one of only two rings in Crimson Desert that reach level 4 attack speed at max refinement while also providing stamina regeneration. The other is the Mark of Darkness, and endgame two-handed sword builds slot both rings at once. The pairing is especially strong for Turning Slash rotations, where uptime depends on both attack speed and stamina recovery.
The ring drops from the Chapter 9 main story quest Unwavering Steps after defeating a boss at the end of the quest. There is no alternate source, so progressing the main story to Chapter 9 is the only way to add this ring to the loadout.
Witch's Ring pairs with Mark of Darkness for a combined +8 attack speed across both ring slots. That is the highest attack speed contribution any accessory pair in the game provides, and it is the reason both rings are listed as core gear in the Combat God Gauntlets variant of the Kliff Unarmed Build. The build leans on rapid combo execution (R2 heavy chain into R1 swap, immediate Showstopper proc, charged R1+R2 finishers when stagger fills), and +8 attack speed compresses every animation in that rotation enough to noticeably increase damage per second.
Attack speed also affects defensive timing, since dodge cancels and weapon transitions inherit the same animation speed. A build using these rings together feels significantly more responsive than one using either ring alone or one ring with a generic accessory in the second slot. Both rings should be acquired and refined to the highest available tier as a priority.
