The Scarecrow Cloak is a cloth cloak in Crimson Desert that provides 2 base defense and Ice Resistance Lv.3. It also grants the Reduces enemy detection when standing still special effect.
Cloth cloaks provide Ice Resistance, making them effective against frost-based enemies, ice magic, and cold environmental hazards.
This cloak is obtained through crafting at a Blacksmith, requiring Hay x5, Cloth Pieces x10.
"A cloak shaped after a scarecrow found in the fields. Made from coarse fabric, it isn't particularly comfortable to wear. Equipping it makes it harder for enemies to detect the wearer while standing still."

Ice Resistance reduces damage from frost-based attacks, freezing status effects, and cold environmental hazards. This is valuable in snowy or mountainous regions, against ice-wielding enemies, and during encounters with bosses that use frost magic.
In Crimson Desert, cloak material type determines the elemental resistance: Cloth cloaks grant Ice Resistance, Leather cloaks grant Lightning Resistance, and Plate cloaks grant Fire Resistance. The Scarecrow Cloak follows this pattern as a cloth cloak providing Ice Resistance.

The Scarecrow Cloak's special effect reduces enemy detection when the wearer is standing still. This works differently from the Civilian Disguise effect found on the Disguise Cloak. Rather than allowing free movement through restricted areas, the Scarecrow Cloak makes Kliff harder to spot when stationary, effectively functioning as a passive camouflage while not moving.
This effect is useful for scouting enemy camps, waiting for patrol patterns to pass, or setting up ambush positions. Once Kliff starts moving, the detection reduction is removed. The stealth bonus stacks with environmental cover such as tall grass and foliage.
This cloak does not have a refinement gauge and cannot be upgraded at the Blacksmith. Its stats are fixed.
Ice Resistance cloaks form the largest group, with 11 cloaks providing this element. Here are some notable comparisons:
Cloak | Special Effect | ||
|---|---|---|---|
3 | Lv.3 | Civilian Disguise | |
3 | Lv.3 | None | |
3 | Lv.3 | None | |
3 | Lv.3 | Jackal Disguise | |
3 | Lv.3 | St. Halssius Disguise |
The Reduces enemy detection when standing still effect provides utility beyond raw stats. Keep this cloak in your inventory even if you find something with higher defense.
Despite the stealth effect, this cloak does not function like a full disguise. It only reduces detection while standing still.
The stealth bonus stacks with environmental cover such as tall grass and foliage for even greater concealment.
Ice Resistance is helpful in snowy or mountainous areas, against frost-wielding enemies, and during boss fights involving ice magic.
