Key Items are a unique type of item in Crimson Desert that players collect to progress the main storyline, complete side quests, unlock areas, and solve puzzles. They are obtained through various means: purchasing from vendors, receiving gifts from NPCs, completing quests, picking up notices from boards in Hernand, or exploring the world of Pywel. Unlike consumables or equipment, Key Items generally cannot be sold or discarded. They are stored in a dedicated section of the player's inventory.
There are 62 key items in total, spanning several subcategories: story relics, keys and access passes, letters and documents, bounty notices, help posters, ledgers, crafting components, and miscellaneous quest objects. The sections below list every key item organized by type.
These key items are directly tied to the main narrative or major quest chains. Many are obtained automatically during story progression or through pivotal character interactions.
