The unlock requirements for Focused Shot differ between characters. For Kliff, it requires leveling both Marksmanship and Focus to Lv. 2, then spending 1 Abyss Artifact. For Damiane, Focused Shot is unlocked by default and available from the moment she becomes playable. Oongka can also unlock Focused Shot through his own Spirit tree progression.
Focused Shot activates a slow-motion aiming mode while using a ranged weapon. While aiming, press L3 + R3 to enter Focus, then press R1 to fire up to 4 precision shots at targeted enemies. The skill costs 3 Spirit per use. Each level invested in Focused Shot increases the maximum number of shots by two, eventually allowing a rapid volley of arrows or projectiles during a single activation.
The slow-motion effect gives players time to aim carefully at weak points or line up shots on multiple enemies. Focused Shot is invaluable against fast-moving targets that are difficult to hit during normal gameplay speed. The skill works with any ranged weapon, including bows for Kliff and Damiane, and the Hand Cannon for Oongka.
Focused Shot branches into two progressive upgrades:
Focused Evasive Shot (Lv. 2): While aiming or rolling, enter Focused Shot mode. Activated by pressing Square while aiming or L2 while rolling. This upgrade lets you dodge into Focus mode, combining evasion with precision shooting in a single fluid motion.
Focused Charged Shot (Lv. 3): Combine Focused Shot and Charged Shot for a devastating single shot. Activated by pressing R2 during Focused Shot or L3 + R3 during Charged Shot. Costs 10 Spirit. This is one of the highest single-hit ranged damage options in the game.
Use Focused Shot during boss fights to target specific weak points during attack windows. The slow-motion effect makes precision hits much more consistent.
At Lv. 2, Focused Evasive Shot allows you to dodge an incoming attack and immediately enter precision aiming. This is essential for bow-focused builds that need to maintain ranged pressure while avoiding melee attacks.
At Lv. 3, Focused Charged Shot delivers massive single-hit damage. Save it for boss stagger windows or high-value targets.
Focused Shot is also useful for certain Abyss puzzles that require precise ranged shots at targets or switches.
Spirit regenerates while Focus is active, so you can sustain Focused Shot usage by entering Focus mode between shots.
For Damiane players, Focused Shot is available immediately and should be used from the start to maximize ranged damage before engaging in melee.
Marksmanship: The base ranged attack skill and prerequisite for Kliff.
Charged Shot: A powerful single shot that combines with Focused Shot at Lv. 3.
Evasive Shot: A dodge-and-fire skill that complements Focused Shot's defensive aiming.
Focus: The Spirit skill that enables the slow-motion aiming mode.
Multishot: Another advanced ranged skill for firing multiple projectiles.
Focused Shot requires Marksmanship lv2 (the second skill from center in the blue skill tree) and Focus lv2 (the second skill from center in the green skill tree).
On Xbox: hold LT to aim, then click both the right and left sticks simultaneously to enter Focused Shot mode. While in this mode, click RB to mark each target. Once all desired targets are marked, release LT to fire all marked shots in rapid succession.
Focused Shot is required for two abyss islands in the Lightning Surge unlock path:
Vault of Vengeance: After reaching the top of the room, use Focused Shot to mark all four targets arranged around the upper area. Release to fire and deactivate the room's defenses simultaneously.
Courtyard of Precision: Use Focused Shot to hit only the yellow targets in groups around the central pit. Additional aerial targets must also be shot with Focused Shot. Hitting non-yellow targets will reset the puzzle.
Outside of abyss puzzles, Focused Shot is useful in combat for targeting multiple enemies or hitting weak points on large bosses in quick succession.
Invest in Focused Shot early to unlock its full progression chain.
Spirit regenerates while in Focus mode, so pair this skill with Focus for sustained use.
