The Deepfog Basin Pillars puzzle is an Ancient Ruins challenge where players must adjust four movable pillars to match the height of a fixed reference pillar using the Stab skill on a central pedestal.
Deep in the forest of Deepfog Basin near the foot of the Argen Peaks, marked on your map as a Mysterious Energy point.
Stab (One-Handed Sword skill) to interact with the rotating pedestal at the ruins' center.
There are four slots on the pedestal. Using the Abyss Cresset as a 12 o'clock reference:
12 o'clock slot: Controls Pillars 1, 2, and 3
3 o'clock slot: Controls Pillars 2 and 5
5 o'clock slot: Controls Pillars 1 and 4
9 o'clock slot: Controls Pillars 3, 4, and 5
Save your game first. If the puzzle gets stuck, reload to reset the pillar heights.
Use the 12 o'clock slot to raise Pillars 1, 2, and 3 halfway to the target height (the leftmost fixed pillar).
Use the 5 o'clock slot to raise Pillars 1 and 4. Pillar 1 should reach the target height; Pillar 4 should match Pillars 2 and 3.
Return to the 12 o'clock slot and raise Pillars 2, 3, and 4 until all five pillars are aligned at the same height.
The leftmost pillar is fixed and cannot move. It is your height reference for all other pillars.
Half-steps are key. Each activation raises pillars by a set increment, so plan how many activations each slot needs.
If you overshoot, reload your save rather than trying to correct in place.
