The prologue of Crimson Desert opens with a dramatic fight against Myurdin, a massive dragon that attacks the Black Bears. Many players wonder whether it is actually possible to win this fight. The short answer: yes, technically, but it does not matter.
The Prologue Fight
During the Dead of Night prologue sequence, you control Kliff in a battle against Myurdin. The fight functions as a tutorial, teaching you basic combat mechanics like dodging, attacking, and using skills. The game expects you to lose.
What Happens if You Win

It is possible to deplete Myurdin's health bar if you play well enough. However, defeating Myurdin in the prologue yields no rewards and does not change the story. After you win, Myurdin simply respawns and the scripted story sequence plays out exactly the same way. The prologue outcome is fixed regardless of your performance.
The Real Myurdin Fight
You will face Myurdin for real later in the game during Chapter 7. This is the fight that actually counts, and it is significantly more challenging than the prologue version.
Preparation for Chapter 7
Stock up on Meat Skewers and Braised Meat for healing.
Bring Palmar Pills for instant revival at 30% health. Save them for Phase 2.
Equip fire-resistant armor to reduce burn damage.
Phase 1 Tips
Focus on parrying Myurdin's attacks and use heavy attacks during openings. The most dangerous move in Phase 1 is the Bear Volley attack. When you see it coming, immediately jump and use Force Palm to launch into the air, then activate Flight to stay airborne until the attack ends.
Phase 2 Tips
Myurdin transforms into Lava Myurdin and gains lava-based attacks. Stay near the center of the arena; Lava Myurdin actively tries to knock you toward the edges, and falling into lava is an instant kill. Focus on dodging during this phase and only attack during clear openings.
Summary
Do not stress about the prologue fight with Myurdin. It is designed as a tutorial, and whether you win or lose changes nothing. Save your energy for the real encounter in Chapter 7.
