How to Obtain

Abyssal Fusion is a crafted material produced by combining several rare components. It is created at Grimnir's Kuku Shop in Hernand at the Kilnden Workshop as part of the "Wings of Iron" quest, which becomes available after acquiring your dragon mount in Chapter 11.

Important: The Kuku Pot used to craft the Small Kuku A.T.A.G. is consumed during the process. Make sure the pot you use does not contain other Abyss Gear items. It is advisable to keep a separate pot reserved specifically for this craft.

Primary Use: Abyssal Dragon Armor

The Abyssal Fusion material is the key ingredient for crafting the Abyssal Dragon Armor, a special piece of equipment that strengthens your dragon mount Blackstar. After gathering all components and crafting the Abyssal Fusion at Grimnir's Kuku Shop, travel to the Nest of Valor, a floating Abyss island located above Dry Valley (the same location where the Chapter 9 fight with Goyen takes place). Upon arrival, a cutscene plays in which the armor mechanism wraps around Blackstar in a dramatic transformation sequence, permanently applying the armor to your dragon.

Armor Effects

The Abyssal Dragon Armor is primarily a defensive upgrade for Blackstar. Once equipped, the dragon gains significantly increased damage resistance, allowing it to absorb considerably more punishment before being downed. This is particularly useful in late-game Abyss content where aerial threats can deal heavy damage.

Navigating the Courtyard of Precision Abyss challenge using Axiom Force in Crimson Desert

The armor does not provide any of the following benefits:

No increase to flight speed
No extension to flight duration
No reduction to Blackstar's 50-minute summoning cooldown
No new combat abilities or attacks

Blackstar retains all existing combat capabilities while armored, including fireball attacks and the lock-on multi-fireball function. The armor is a permanent upgrade and cannot be removed once applied.

Prerequisites

Complete Chapter 11 to unlock Blackstar as your dragon mount.
Complete enough Witch NPC side quests to unlock the Sanctum questline in Hernand.
The quest "Flight: Wings of Iron" must be active before you can craft Abyssal Fusion.
Visit the Witches' Faction in Hernand to "decipher the records analyzed by the Witches" at the Kilnden Workshop.
