Nuia (Continent)

Reframed the geography section as original-game zone data and replaced the unsourced Chronicles role section with what has actually been published about the continent
The continent of Nuia is the western landmass of Erenor, named in honor of Goddess Nui. It is the homeland of the Nuian Alliance: the Nuians, Elves, and Dwarves. The continent was settled by survivors who fled Auroria through the Hereafter gates opened by Goddess Nui during the collapse.
Nuia is inherited setting geography. ArcheAge Chronicles takes place on Auroria, and no published Chronicles material describes Nuia, names a zone on it, or shows it in play. The regions listed below are original ArcheAge zones, recorded here as franchise background rather than as content confirmed for this game.
Nuia featured diverse landscapes ranging from temperate forests to coastal regions. Key regions in the original game included:
Region | Description in the original game |
|---|---|
White Arden | The White Forest where Nui's portal first deposited the refugees from Auroria |
Gweonid Forest | Deep woodland home to the Elves, centered around Gweonid Lake |
Solzreed Peninsula | Nuian starting territory with fertile farmland |
Airain Rock | The icy mountain homeland of the Dwarves, containing the fortress-city of Andelph |
Marianople | A major urban center and trade hub |
Two Crowns | The fortress originally founded as Thessaloniki in Year 88, later expanded into a major trading port and political center |
The original game listed roughly fifteen playable zones on Nuia in total. None of them has been confirmed to appear in Chronicles, and the studio has not said whether the southern continents are represented in the game at all.
Nuia's political history is defined by the aftermath of the Eclipse War between the Illion and Sallium families. The Illion family won, and the defeated Sallium fled east to found the Harani nation. This split established the two-faction continental rivalry that runs through the shared setting.
The Nuian succession system, where rulers are tested in a Labyrinth rather than inheriting power, was established during the Rise of the Crescent around Year 50.
The game is set on Auroria, described by the studio as a legend long forgotten and now rediscovered, with pioneers arriving to settle it. The framing of the Age of Pioneers carries an implied wider world that those pioneers travel from, and the two-alliance political division is part of the setting Chronicles inherits.
What has not been published is any statement that Nuia appears as a playable region, that players can travel there, that Nuian characters can be created, or that the continent is represented in the story beyond being where some pioneers originate. Earlier versions of this page described Nuia as an active power negotiating a joint venture on Auroria; that framing extended the inherited timeline further than any published Chronicles source supports and has been removed. Treat the continent as background until the studio describes it directly.
