The Harani are a human race with an East Asian aesthetic, aligned with the Haranyan Alliance on the eastern continent. Practical, cunning, and deeply family-oriented, they carry the motto: "We may bend, but we do not break." They are survivors in the truest sense. Others may do anything to succeed, but Harani will do anything to live.
History
The Harani are descendants of the Sallium family, who lost the Eclipse War on Nuia and fled east across the sea. Their leader named the new territory Harihara and founded the Harani nation. Initial expansion brought them into conflict with the indigenous Firran, but the Harani eventually changed strategy and settled in uninhabited areas rather than pushing further into occupied territory.
The entire eastern continent eventually unified as Haranya under the Perinoor Empire. After the empire's collapse and a twenty-year civil war, the kingdom fragmented into four states. Queen Mei later reunified the nation and ruled until she stepped down to marry a Firran, cementing the alliance between the two races.
Culture
Harani culture is defined by pragmatism and endurance. They have been refugees, conquerors, empire-builders, and survivors of civil war. Each crisis taught them the same lesson: adapt or die. Their family bonds are the strongest social unit, and Harani are capable of extreme and heroic acts in service of their people's preservation. This practical outlook means they are less idealistic than the Nuians but more likely to survive what the Nuians would not.
Starting area and mount
Harani players begin in the Arcum Iris region near Austera in Mahadevi. Their racial mount is the Leomorph, a horned lion-like creature that reflects the Harani's strength and their long coexistence with the Firran.
