The Dwarves are the third race of the Nuian Alliance on the western continent. Males average about 3.5 feet tall with broad shoulders, large arms, and fists described as "like hammers." Their motto, "Raze foes. Raise cities. Rejoice in stone," captures everything about their identity in seven words. They were added to the original ArcheAge in the Revelation 3.0 update and return in ArcheAge Chronicles.
History
Airain Rock serves as the ancestral Dwarven homeland, with massive icy peaks and deep snows surrounding their territory. The towering fortress-city of Andelph is the center of the Dwarven world, built directly into mountain rock. After the Demon War, the Dwarves largely withdrew from the rest of Erenor's politics, retreating into their mountain halls to pursue their own projects.
The recent rise of the Warborn, their old enemies from the Demon War, forced the Dwarves back into continental politics. They returned not empty-handed: centuries of isolation had been spent developing new technology, which they brought with them to the wider world.
Culture
Dwarves are independent and inventive by nature, with a reputation for stubbornness and suspicion toward outsiders. That said, they are generous in returning kindness. Their entire way of life revolves around stone and metal: mining, forging, building, and engineering. Andelph stands as a testament to what obsessive craftsmanship and several centuries of uninterrupted work can produce.
Starting area and mount
Dwarven players begin at Airain Rock with unique Dwarf-specific story and lore quests covering levels 1-30. Their racial mount reflects their technological aptitude, being a mechanical or engineered creation rather than a living animal.
