The continent of Nuia is the western landmass of Erenor, named in honor of Goddess Nui. It serves as the homeland of the Nuian Alliance: the Nuians, Elves, and Dwarves. The continent was settled by survivors who fled Auroria through the Hereafter gates opened by Goddess Nui during the collapse.
Geography
Nuia features diverse landscapes ranging from temperate forests to coastal regions. Key regions include:
Item | Description |
|---|---|
White Arden | The White Forest where Nui's portal first deposited the refugees from Auroria |
Gweonid Forest | Deep woodland home to the Elves, centered around Gweonid Lake |
Solzreed Peninsula | Nuian starting territory with fertile farmland |
Airain Rock | The icy mountain homeland of the Dwarves, containing the fortress-city of Andelph |
Marianople | A major urban center and trade hub |
Two Crowns | The fortress originally founded as Thessaloniki in Year 88, later expanded into a major trading port and political center |
Political history
Nuia's political history is defined by the aftermath of the Eclipse War between the Illion and Sallium families. The Illion family won, and the defeated Sallium fled east to found the Harani nation. This split established the two-faction continental rivalry that persists into the Age of Pioneers. The Nuian succession system, where rulers are tested in a Labyrinth rather than inheriting power, was established during the Rise of the Crescent around Year 50.
Role in ArcheAge Chronicles
In the Age of Pioneers, Nuia is one of the two established powers competing for influence over the rediscovered Auroria. The joint venture with Haranya to build a unified city on Auroria represents a tentative peace, but centuries of rivalry are not easily set aside. Nuian characters, politics, and cultural tensions are woven throughout the game's narrative.
