The World of Idyll

Added the Outpost and Rosetower Wood, corrected the server names to their launch forms, and cross-linked every named habitat
Idyll is the continent where Aniimo takes place, a vast and lush open world of rolling hills, coastlines, and dramatic skies. It is the home of the wild Aniimo and the proving ground for the Pathfinders who explore it.

Idyll is designed to feel alive. The creatures that appear in any given place change with the environment, the weather, passing phenomena, and the time of day, so the same area can offer different encounters from one visit to the next. This ties exploration directly to catching, rewarding players who learn the rhythms of the land.
A creature's Form is part of that. A species found in one place in its Basic Form turns up somewhere entirely different as a Highland, Snowfield or Beach Form, with a different elemental pairing attached, so the map is not one distribution of creatures but several overlapping ones. The full breakdown lives on Habitats of Idyll.
Above the continent floats Astra, a sky-bound metropolis and the game's main social hub, where Pathfinders gather, meet one another, stroll its lively streets, and take part in competitions. It connects the solitary thrill of exploration to a shared world of other players. Astra has shops, quest-giving residents, and its own landmarks.
The Global Closed Beta expanded Astra with new social features, including a Nimbi delivery service, stores for accessories and clothing, blind box building, and a pet park. A location called the Outpost appears alongside Astra as a second place to shop, and the Outpost Hatchinator is where special eggs are hatched.
Astra carries no creature habitat entries in the index. It is a city rather than hunting ground.
The official world map names six broad regions, each with its own look and conditions that shape the Aniimo a Pathfinder finds there.
Region | Description |
|---|---|
Forest of Falling Stars | A dense purple forest upstream where Celestises glide among the starine trees like shooting stars. |
Mistwoods | A misty swamp of withered twigs that belches bubbles and poisonous miasma, where glimmer fruits shine like glass lamps to guide travellers. |
Echoback Landing | A coastal area haunted by the song of a stranded enormous Aniimo, the answer to which hides in the Echoback singing. |
Sea of Flowers | An endless fragrant field of purple flowers. A small village known for its perfumes nestles among them and has neighboured the Aniimo for generations. |
Blitzwood | A thunder-struck wood where Bolties draw thunder that carves scorched furrows into the grassy slopes amid crackling electric sparks. |
Nimbus Fields | Nimbi bounce across this vast cloud-soft grassland where the scent of fresh grass spreads across rippling green waves. |
The perfume village in the Sea of Flowers is named Bloomville in the studio's own creature features, which credit its finest perfumes to a single small creature, Dewy. Dewy and its evolution Fragrancier both carry Sea of Flowers as a habitat, which lines the two up.
Place | What It Is | |
|---|---|---|
Lost Isles | The arena used by the [[egg-heist-and-pvp | Egg Heist]] mode. It is a mode zone rather than an open-world region. |
Crescent Bay | The water-themed area added for the Global Closed Beta, and the habitat carried by most of the ocean-dwelling Aniimo at the end of the index. | |
Whisperwake Isles | The region the studio names as home to that same late-index block of creatures. It sits at a broader level of description than Crescent Bay rather than contradicting it. | |
Rosetower Wood | A distinct area with its own weather forecasting, named in beta patch notes and carried as a habitat by several creatures. | |
The Homeland | The player's own area, now a multi-area map. See [[the-rv-and-homeland | The RV and Homeland]]. |
Outpost | A shop location alongside Astra, and the site of the Outpost Hatchinator. |
Beyond the six broad regions, the creature index names further locations that appear as Aniimo habitats across the continent. A few examples of the creatures found in each are listed below; the complete lists are on Habitats of Idyll.

The Whisperwake Isles are the ocean region introduced alongside the Global Closed Beta, and the setting for the game's late-index Aniimo. Ten species are grouped there: Reefish, Coraliz, Cheekie, Wavwal, Bubbeep, Glameep, Popapus, Gachapus, Malangel, and Malevsera. Crescent Bay is the habitat most of them carry in the official creature index.
Because the region's roster was still being tuned during the beta, several of its Aniimo were among those excluded from the farewell sealing event described on Development.
Idyll is hosted on three regional servers, named Aniimo-Americas, Aniimo-Europe and Aniimo-Apac. During the Global Closed Beta the same three ran under short forms and each opened and closed on its own local clock, with Apac on UTC+8, Europe on UTC+0 and the Americas on UTC-4. A character lives on one server, and beta progress did not carry between them. Mainland China is served separately from the international build. See Servers and Cross-Play.
