Repointed 1 internal link to the renamed page

Nova City is the primary open-world setting in ANANTA. It is a sun-soaked coastal metropolis roughly the size of Manhattan, making it one of the largest urban game environments attempted in a single city. The Japanese urban styling is inspired by neighborhoods like Akihabara, rendered in the game's cel-shaded anime aesthetic with a full day-night cycle.
Nova Inception Urbs is the first city in ANANTA and where players start the game. It is no longer the only one: a second city was confirmed in August 2026.
Two Nova City districts have official location pages of their own, published in August 2026.
District | Character |
|---|---|
The social heart of the city, where everyone is chasing the brightest screen and the hottest band | |
The thrill district: street racing, fight clubs, the ParaBoar biker gang, and a heavy Reign Group presence |
The city includes beaches, amusement parks, industrial zones, shopping districts, business centers, residential areas, artistic quarters, neon nightlife zones, and cultural centers. The environment has three vertical layers: rooftops, mid-level platforms, and street level, all of which are explorable through parkour and grappling.

Paradox Plaza

Sonic Boom Club
Whalebone Library (also called Flying Bone Library)
Eve Gallery (Eve Art Museum)
Two further places are named in the in-fiction social feed published on the official Ananta site. The Golden Coast is the city's beach and waterfront stretch: official posts tie it to tourism, sunbathing, tide warnings, and yacht racing, and one in-universe tourism post describes Nova as a coastal destination built around it. Aerie Bank is named as a city banking landmark, appearing in an in-fiction breaking-news post about a Chaos incident outside the building.
Southern Road is a named Nova City street. It appears once, in a breaking-news post on the in-fiction city feed reporting a gang fight there, with the NCCA's Aegis Nexus Team on site and residents told to evacuate. Nothing else has been published about it: no district, no landmark, and no indication of whether it is a location the player can visit.
NPCs follow daily routines, carry smartphones, and post on social media. They react to player behavior: steal someone's phone and they get angry; cause a scene and it might end up on the in-game social feeds. Random encounters appear on the map as red and blue markers. See City Life and Social Media Influence for more.
Six private organizations have been named in Nova City, five of them through corporate pages published on the game's own website and written from inside the world. The city's public bodies are covered separately on A.C.D. and NCCA.
Organization | Business |
|---|---|
The city's largest conglomerate: construction sites and real estate offices, with a past its own description declines to explain | |
A bank whose own page describes asset concealment and offshore transfers for the Leonas Group | |
Film, television and music, headlined by the director Minajima Kazu | |
Armed private security with three contract tiers, two of which staff a Chaos advisor | |
Robotics and embodied AI, with four product lines and a public showcase called Zenith Park | |
Known only as Mechanika's employer |
Two smaller operators sit alongside them: Cat Express, the courier service, and Eonbug, the surveillance outfit. ParaBoar is the only criminal organization the game has named and given a territory.
A second city, Chongxiao, was revealed on August 25, 2026 under the framing "Two Cities, Two Adventures." It is presented as the place the player character is from, reached from Nova City by plane, and it has three published locations of its own: Weilan Lake, Mingpu District, and Longqi Village.
Earlier marketing also spoke in general terms about European-styled and American-styled cities plus countryside zones being added over time. None of those have been named or shown, and Chongxiao is the only additional city confirmed so far.
Early Project Mugen materials used the abbreviation N.I.U. (Nova Inception Urbs). Later marketing shifted to simply "Nova City" or "Nova." This wiki treats them as the same location unless the developers clarify otherwise.
The city uses Japanese urban styling with the game's cel-shaded anime look. Day and night cycles change the atmosphere and affect gameplay.
Nova Inception Urbs looks like a modern Japanese city with varied architecture, street life, and NPCs going about their day. Supernatural elements are mixed into the urban environment.
Chongxiao is the confirmed second city. Travel between the two is described in official copy as a plane trip rather than a seamless border crossing, though the exact form it takes in play has not been shown.
Players can move through the city using various abilities, similar to Spider-Man or GTA. The game offers missions, secrets, and story content spread across the open world.
