Added official development screenshots of the Trial of Cryo, the Scala Moor swamp and the Dojo practice space
Alabaster Dawn has shipped in public builds since September 2025, first as a free demo and then, from May 2026, as a paid Early Access release. This page tracks what each build added. Version numbers follow a simple pattern: the leading zero marks the Early Access period, the middle digit counts major content updates, and a trailing dash number marks a hotfix, so 0.1.0-7 is the seventh hotfix on the first Early Access release.
Version | Released | What it was |
|---|---|---|
0.2.0 | In development | First major content update. Targeted for late September or October 2026. |
0.1.0 | 7 May 2026 | Early Access release. Prologue through the middle of Chapter 2. |
0.0.5 | 23 February 2026 | Demo update for Steam Next Fest. |
0.0.4 | 18 September 2025 | First public demo. |
0.0.3 | August 2025 | Gamescom showcase demo, not publicly distributed. |
0.0.2 | November 2024 | Closed alpha. |
0.0.1 | August 2024 | Gamescom showcase demo, not publicly distributed. |
Released 7 May 2026 at $24.99 with an introductory discount. Saves from the demo carried over, though progress was rolled back slightly so that returning players would not skip content the demo had cut around; a demo save resumes just after the story Branching Out.
What 0.1.0 added over the final demo build:
The complete first area, including sections the demo walled off.
The complete first dungeon. The demo carried only its first half.
A large new area past that dungeon.
The second settlement.
Extended story content both before and after the demo ending.
Six optional side quests in Lyhamn.
Two optional dungeons plus another large optional puzzle.
Several new enemies and bosses.
More Divine Arts.
The Somu’s Dream roguelite side mode.
Ten hotfixes went out over the first two weeks. The numbering skips 0.1.0-9, which was never published as a separate announcement.
Hotfix | Date | Changes |
|---|---|---|
0.1.0-1 | 7 May 2026 | Fixed loading of demo saves that had not completed the demo content. Corrected a language label that wrongly read as Polish. |
0.1.0-2 | 7 May 2026 | Disabled a landmark carried over from demo saves so that content could not be skipped. Fixed high-resolution gamepad icons and assorted spelling. |
0.1.0-3 | 7 May 2026 | Chinese localization update. Deactivated the Silver Peak landmark. Spelling fixes. |
0.1.0-4 | 7 May 2026 | Crash fixes. Reduced the ways enemies could leave the arena in certain fights. Correct resolution at 4K. Removed language options that were not really supported yet. |
0.1.0-5 | 8 May 2026 | Fixed Steam Cloud save synchronization on Linux, converting save files so they sync correctly with Windows installs and keeping the newest save when both systems used the same slot. Several crash fixes, including one caused by an Evil Frumato near a teleporter. Mapping detail and typo pass. |
0.1.0-6 | 8 May 2026 | Further fix for resetting demo saves so that Orlanda appears. Reworked some questionable quest tasks. Some offering items can now be shown at the wellspring. More fixes and spelling corrections. |
0.1.0-7 | 10 May 2026 | Fixed a critical bug that could block players from finishing the Spring Trial. Minor issues and typos. |
0.1.0-8 | 18 May 2026 | Added boost and buff sub-information to the help menu. Adjusted molerat behaviour during the Wheat Field Whac-A-Mole quest. Filia can now keep up with Juno when moving fast, though not with Divine Sprint. Added missing placeholder icons. Sword charge attack now correctly counts as a finisher. Clarified which attacks count as a Ground Pound or a Finisher in skill descriptions. Fixed a food experience exploit. |
0.1.0-10 | 20 May 2026 | Added a Filia portrait to the menu. Low HP warning no longer keeps grey colours and is shorter. Removed a doubled checkpoint with effects overload in the beach cave. |
Released 23 February 2026 to coincide with Steam Next Fest. This was the last demo build before Early Access.
Addition | Detail |
|---|---|
Dialog Log | Reads back any message skipped over, opened from the Tab or Select menu and from the pause menu during combat and cutscenes. |
New music | Two new tracks for cutscenes plus a new battle track for longer fights, with more combat music when Juno is ambushed or surrounded. |
Transition Weather | A foggier, less sunny weather state for the later part of the demo, reflecting the sudden transformation of the environment. Weather also stopped changing as rapidly. |
Dynamic camera zoom | The camera zooms for certain map spots and sits slightly wider outdoors. Adjustable or disableable in the options. |
Sly Trapper | A Crossbow move performed after a parry. |
Cover Arc | A Crossbow move performed after a back step. |
Crystal Breaker | A proper parry attack for the Hammer. |
Sprint change | Juno now keeps sprinting automatically after a dash until she stops moving, instead of requiring the dash button held. Divine Sprint still needs the button held to charge. |
New options | Render resolution for sharper high-res or faster low-res output, screenshake strength, and a Chinese localization. |
Extra content | A little more demo content showing new Chakram puzzle mechanics and more of the story. |
Three unannounced hotfixes followed within the first few days.
Released 18 September 2025, the first publicly playable build. No full changelog exists; partial notes went out through the developer community channel. By December 2025 the demo had pushed the game close to 250,000 wishlists, and the reception was strong enough that the studio committed to an Early Access release in the first half of 2026.
Documented hotfixes:
0.0.4-1: fixed a crash on loadout selection and minor issues.
0.0.4-2: major physics fixes so Juno and NPCs no longer stick on cliffs, more crash fixes, stopped messages repeating when switching between keyboard and gamepad, spelling, and support for all gamepads including several at once.
0.0.4-4: further crash mitigation and a Gamepad Filter option to pick which connected pad the game uses.
0.0.4-5: fixed a freeze in the destroyed Lyhamn scene, corrected the direction of Stardust Wave, updated shoulder button icons for different pad types, fixed respawning in shallow water.
0.0.4-6: fixed the skip-cutscene option being lost after the cooking tutorial, and made the current loadout save and reload properly.
0.0.4-3, 0.0.4-7 and 0.0.4-8: shipped without announcement posts.
Version 0.2.0 is the first of eight major content updates planned before 1.0. It has been delayed twice.
Date | Status |
|---|---|
21 May 2026 | Roadmap post sets out eight major updates before 1.0 and introduces 0.2.0 as the next milestone. |
25 July 2026 | Target of August 2026 pushed to early September, so that the studio would not be fielding launch bugs and feedback while travelling to Gamescom. |
4 September 2026 | Pushed again to a window of late September through October 2026. |
The September report gave three reasons. The second major dungeon, the Trial of Cryo, has its maps, puzzles and standard encounters largely finished, but its boss fights are not; the studio said it had planned something big for them and needed at least a few more weeks. Some content for the swamp region was also still in development, and the team wanted to finish it rather than fence off unfinished areas with signs as it had done previously. Finally, the studio asked for recovery time after working without a break since the May launch and through Gamescom, and said it was looking into spreading the workload more evenly in future.
Announced for 0.2.0, subject to change until it ships:
Addition | Detail |
|---|---|
Scala Moor | A swamp region west of Sundalan. Mapping largely wrapped up as of July 2026, with enemies and puzzles placed. |
Trial of Cryo | The second major dungeon, named publicly in September 2026. New enemies, puzzles and boss fights. |
Spear | A new Divine weapon, obtainable in the update. See Divine Weapons. |
Extended kama combos | Combo abilities extended for Corran Solas, with Filia now pulled along when Juno travels between Hook Poles. |
Map markers | Player-placed map markers, almost unlimited in number, plus more colour on the world map so structures and elevation read more clearly. |
The Dojo | A dream-like practice space reachable from any Waysprout, where enemies can be fought without losing HP or Divine Charges. Enemy types unlock by finding Records hidden across Tiran Sol and spending a few of the matching essences. |
German localization | A full German translation, produced with an outside localization partner rather than in-house. |
Roguelite expansion | A fourth Depth Layer, removal of the damage penalty, and a broad Blessing pass. See Roguelite Mode. |
Side quests | Missing side quests filled in for Sundalan and the Aurum Plains. |
Two features have been named but explicitly held back past 0.2.0. A Glossary menu collecting lore entries about Tiran Sol, unlocked automatically or found through exploration, was started in July 2026; the studio said compiling the worldbuilding into a menu was taking longer than expected and it would not be ready. Nightmare Mode and a rework of the roguelite bonus system are likewise deferred.

Eight major updates are planned before version 1.0, and Early Access is expected to run at least two years from the May 2026 launch. Most updates focus on gameplay content: new areas, dungeons, enemies, puzzles and boss battles. Story is extended only partially alongside them. Once the written plot runs out the game switches into a gameplay preview, letting players run through later content without its story context; progress made in preview such as opened chests and solved puzzles is intended to stay valid when the story arrives, though the studio recommends replaying that content once it does.
Two updates are reserved for narrative instead. Versions 0.5.0 and 0.8.0 add cutscenes and main-story quests across every area and dungeon available by then, and the studio advises story-focused players to wait for those rather than play content out of context.
