Abyssal Forge: Ludra is a Sanctuary raid in AION 2, called 심연의 재련: 루드라 in Korean. The English name used here is the game client's English data; NCsoft's global notices call it Sanctuary Raid: Ludra, and its English press has named its rewards, such as the Gear Change Voucher: Ludra. It is the first Sanctuary of the Korean and Taiwanese service: patch notes from the launch period already adjust it, including a November 26, 2025 change that set the minimum party for Sanctuary entry to eight players. Sanctuaries became ten-player raids with Chapter 1 on July 1, 2026.

Global Service
Ludra is the one Sanctuary NCsoft has addressed on the global service. Its global notices call it Sanctuary Raid: Ludra, and it was playable during global Advance Access, which began on September 30, 2026. On October 5, 2026 NCsoft said it had been defeated during Advance Access at a lower level of overall progression than intended, and that every Daeva who cleared it in the Europe region during Advance Access would receive a unique title.
The raid was then temporarily removed with the full launch build. NCsoft says the returning version keeps the core identity of the fight but adds new and adjusted mechanics and attack patterns unique to the global service, with a new First Clear event and a reset of the in-game Hall of Fame. Ludra-specific gear earned during Advance Access is removed for now and will be given back, with upgrade materials refunded, when the raid returns; the return date was promised by October 16, 2026. Everything below describes the Korean and Taiwanese version unless it says otherwise.

The raid splits into two groups for the middle bosses; a January 14, 2026 fix made every party fight a middle boss in the split section. Since January 7, 2026 the red mana orbs from Eternal Ludra can be answered with a class's defensive stance, Focused Block for the Gladiator, Focused Defense for the Chanter, Evasion Stance for the Assassin and Protective Shield for the Templar, and a successful answer grants a damage boost.
How the Raid Runs
A Korean strategy guide describes the raid in three steps. First the force destroys the Central Abyss Fusion Reactor while its attacks and adds keep coming; when side reactors appear on the left, centre and right, players ride the updrafts to break them, since they raise the core's durability. The reactor opens a portal to the boss area. One party then fights Isolation Specialist Rahu while the other kills the waves in the forge and breaks abyss stones that buff the fighting party (health regeneration, damage, and attack and movement speed), and the roles swap for Abyssal Wings Ketu. Eternal Ludra is fought by the whole force.
Isolation Specialist Rahu
A narrow safe zone opens while a red area attack is aimed at one player, who steers it away from the safe zone and then dodges into it.
A bomb timer is passed between players by standing next to the carrier; a bomb that goes off leaves a small black hole, and three black holes wipe the raid. The Korean patch notes refer to the same three abyss zones.
Every player gets a red circle and the raid overlaps them to make a shared safe spot before purple blasts fire outside them.
"Circle within the bonds of pain": everyone is thrown to the edge while Rahu attacks continuously, and the party stacks on one marked player.
Rahu splits the arena into quadrants and charges a player, and players drop their damage pools tightly at the edge without falling off.
Time of Devouring (포식의 시간): four Abyss Devourers rise and the player Rahu targets must line the attack up on a Devourer; each miss adds a black hole.
Abyssal Wings Ketu
A dive on a marked player followed by a jump rope when the weapon is pulled out; blocking the dive with a defensive skill stops the rope.
"Hide and seek with the abyss": a strong laser sweeps in from one side, then players split to clear ghosts while a white field closes like a clock hand; ghosts touching it cause fear.
Two orbs fall from the sky and must be caught by two players before they land.
Homing scythes follow some players and can be destroyed.
Below about half health a blue or red orb appears: players must look away from a blue one and face a red one; later three come in a row.
Burst of Power: Ketu aims cones at every player while mortal soul stones rise around the map; breaking a stone gives a few seconds of invulnerability that carries the player through Ketu's unavoidable channel.
Eternal Ludra
The final fight has a grounded phase and a second phase after Ludra's Trial, with red mana orbs answered by defensive stances, a bingo-board trial with one invulnerable square, and a colour-matched Thunder Zone. See Eternal Ludra.
Rewards
NCsoft's December 17, 2025 update made Sanctuary, then the highest-difficulty content, guarantee rewards such as the Gear Change Voucher: Ludra (Bound) and Abyss Box (Bound). In the Korean notes Ketu and Rahu each gave eight Abyss Boxes, Eternal Ludra added four Unique Sync Stones, and two vouchers, a Ludra weapon and 10,000,000 Kina converted into a weapon selection box. On April 8, 2026 the chance of Hero gear from its cube doubled, and inside the Abyss Box Ludra's Heart and Ludra's Bracelet were weighted twice as heavily among Hero gear. Since July 1, 2026 all rewards come from the cube after the last boss, and four vouchers with 50,000,000 Kina convert into a weapon selection box.
Reward | How it is obtained (KR/TW) |
|---|---|
Ludra weapons and guards | From the final cube; 4 Gear Change Vouchers: Ludra and 50,000,000 Kina convert into the Abyssal Forge weapon selection box (since July 1, 2026; 2 vouchers, a Ludra weapon and 10,000,000 Kina before) |
Ludra's Bracelet | From the cube or the Abyss Box; 2 vouchers and 20,000,000 Kina convert into one (since April 8, 2026) |
Ludra's Heart | From the Abyss Box, weighted twice as heavily among Hero gear since April 8, 2026 |
Abyssal Bracelet | Listed among the main rewards in the official guidebook |
Unique Sync Stones | Four from Eternal Ludra since December 17, 2025; a Gear Change Voucher: Ludra can also be converted into a Hero Sync Stone (January 21, 2026) |
Since May 27, 2026 a Hero-grade Ludra weapon or guard can be carried into the Corroded Ruler line of Corroded Decontamination Facility through Transfer Crafting. From June 17, 2026 Ludra's Bracelet could also be used as the transfer material for a Corroded Afterimage Bracelet; that recipe was removed on July 1, 2026, when NCsoft said the same result is reached by obtaining the bracelet through Material Conversion and then using Transfer Crafting.
Attempts and Kina
December 31, 2025: attempts raised to four per week and rewards to two.
March 11, 2026: weekly attempts cut from four to two, with middle bosses dropping Greater Abyss Boxes worth twice as much.
March 18, 2026: attempts back to four and middle bosses back to regular Abyss Boxes.
May 27, 2026: half of its Kina became bound Kina; August 26, 2026: all of it.
The Chapter 1 update on July 1, 2026 changed every Sanctuary: the attempt limit was removed, the reward limit became a final boss kill count of one per week with rewards doubled to compensate, the entry cost rose from 40 to 80 Odyle Energy, and the time limit was set to two hours. Since April 22, 2026 each character has two resurrections per boss room, counting both skill resurrections and Resurrection Spiritstones, and the count resets when a boss fight starts, when the boss dies or when the party wipes.
