Travel and Teleportation

AION 2's territories are large and vertical, and the game gives several ways to cross them: a teleport network of Kibelisks, flight and gliding on the character's own wings, windstreams and updrafts that carry players for free, portals between territories, and teleports built into quests. This page covers the travel layer; Aerial Combat and Flight covers flight as a combat system.
Kibelisks are the teleport points of each territory. Each one is activated once by visiting it, after which the World Map's numbered Kibelisk list (numbers added March 4, 2026) can teleport you to any activated point. Verteron and Altgard each have 61 activations, with an achievement for activating all of them. Since November 22, 2025 every Kibelisk location has guards posted on the Korean service. A teleport attempted in combat fails; since March 18, 2026 the World Map stays open when that happens. Kibelisks are also free revival points.
Action | Default key | How it works |
|---|---|---|
Flight | V | Fly in any direction with the ground controls; Shift sprints. You can attack and gather while flying. |
Glide | Space (in the air) | Descend slowly; holding W glides faster, and Shift gives a short burst of speed. |
Flight gauge | Flight and gliding drain the gauge; when it runs out you fall. | |
Cooldown | Flight and gliding share a cooldown, but switching from one to the other does not check it. |
Windstreams (바람길) link quest areas and major points. Flying, gliding or jumping into one at its entry point carries you along it automatically, and riding it costs no flight power. Updrafts (용오름) launch you straight up when you step onto them; from the top you glide to wherever you want to go. The game tracks both with achievements: Riding the Winds (Use Windstream) and Soaring the Skies (Use Updraft).

Date (Korean service) | Change |
|---|---|
December 3, 2025 | A windstream added on the approach to the boss in Krao Cave |
January 14, 2026 | Players and NPCs no longer collide with you while riding a windstream |
April 15, 2026 | Windstreams added to Chaotic Middle Reshanta (routes adjusted April 22) |
April 22, 2026 | Fixed updrafts occasionally returning players to their starting point |
April 29, 2026 | Immune to movement control effects while riding a windstream |
May 27, 2026 | Four new monster islands in the Abyss middle layer, each reached by a nearby updraft |
Finishing the hero quest line in Verteron or Altgard opens a spatial transfer portal to Eltnen or Morheim on the Korean and Taiwanese service, usable once the character meets level, item level and combat power conditions. Legion hideouts in the four territories are linked by portals too; moving from a Verteron or Altgard hideout to an Eltnen or Morheim one requires level 45, item level 3,300 and 270,000 combat power, and costs no Hideout Return Scroll. Since July 1, 2026 the world map and minimap show the conditions on any teleport that has them.
Some quests carry their own teleports. On the Korean service the July 1, 2026 update added teleports to quest steps in Poeta, Verteron, Ishalgen and Altgard; players note they must be clicked from the icon beside the quest's distance rather than through the Alt shortcut. On the global service the October 4 to 5, 2026 maintenance added a Quest Tracker button that teleports a character to Verteron or Altgard during the Poeta or Ishalgen Hero Quests. See Journal.
Revival ties into the travel network: a dead character can revive for free at the nearest Kibelisk, or at a registered Kisk if it is on the same server, as well as in place with a Resurrection Spiritstone. The full rules are on Death and Resurrection; the Kisk rules below are the ones that matter for moving a group around.
Kisk rule | On the Korean service |
|---|---|
Force Kisk | Kisk Summoning Stone: Force, sold by general merchants and the Wind Breeze Merchants since February 11, 2026. Only force members can register (up to 16); it allows 48 revivals and lasts one hour |
Territories | Kisks can be placed in territory areas that previously blocked them (since February 25, 2026) |
PvP | In Spacetime Rifts, attacking an enemy NPC or Kisk forces PvP mode on for 10 minutes (since December 24, 2025) |
Domination | A Domination-only Kisk, sold by general merchants and the Wind Breeze Merchants, arrived with Spacetime Rift: Domination on September 2, 2026 |
Return Scrolls send a character back to a set point, and player guides recommend carrying a stack of them while questing. Since March 4, 2026 a failed entry through an Abyss portal no longer uses one up. The global launch rewards that NCsoft extended to every player include 50 Return Scrolls (Bound).

Aerial Combat and Flight for flight in combat. World and Regions for the map and the Transparent Map overlay. Reshanta for the Abyss layers and their flight rules.
