Added the Korean service's graphics hardware notices for RTX 50 laptops, Radeon 8060S and FSR, and its controller beta
AION 2 is a PC-only release built on Unreal Engine 5, and NCsoft has published a single Windows specification that covers both distribution routes. The same client runs whether you install it through Steam or through the publisher's PURPLE launcher, so the numbers below apply to either.
Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
Operating system | Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit | Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit |
Processor | AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or Intel Core i5-10500 | AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel Core i7-11700 |
Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
Graphics | NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB) | NVIDIA RTX 2070 (8 GB) |
DirectX | Version 12 | Version 12 |
Network | Broadband internet connection | Broadband internet connection |
Storage | 100 GB available space | 100 GB available space |
Both tiers require a 64-bit processor and a 64-bit operating system. There is no 32-bit client.
NCsoft attaches a preset recommendation to each tier rather than leaving it to the launcher. On minimum-spec hardware the guidance is to set the in-game graphics preset to Very Low when playing at 1920 by 1080; on recommended-spec hardware the guidance is Low at the same resolution. Both tiers also carry an SSD recommendation.
Read those preset notes as part of the specification rather than as a suggestion. A GTX 1050 Ti at Very Low is the configuration NCsoft is describing when it calls that card the minimum, so a minimum-spec machine should not be expected to hold a stable frame rate at higher presets, and the recommended tier is positioned for 1080p rather than for higher resolutions.
The 100 GB figure is identical at both tiers and is listed as available space rather than installed size, so plan for headroom on top of it for patching. Pre-download for the Launch Scale Test opened a day before that test began. Pre-download for Advance Access opened on September 28, 2026 at 6:00 AM PDT. Those files were encrypted, and the client decrypted them when Advance Access began on September 30; NCsoft said decryption is not a reinstallation and that its length depends on the PC's specifications.
The specification above covers the global PC release. The Korean service runs Android and iOS clients alongside the PC one and publishes its own device requirements for them. Those numbers do not apply to the global build, which has no mobile client, but they are the only published device requirements AION 2 has and they are worth recording.
Device class | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
Android phone | Galaxy S10, Android 12 | Galaxy S23, Android 15 |
iOS | iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 15 | iPhone 14 series, iOS 18 |
Android tablet | Galaxy Tab S7, Android 12 | Galaxy Tab S9, Android 15 |
iPadOS | iPad Pro with M1, iPadOS 15 | iPad Pro with M4, iPadOS 18 |
Those figures were published for the Korean launch in November 2025 and have not been revised since. The Korean PC requirements in the same document have been revised: they were lowered on May 27, 2026 to the same tier the global storefront now lists, so the Korean and global PC specifications match.
The Korean service has published several hardware-specific notices. They describe that service's client; NCsoft has not said whether the same issues apply to the global build.
Date | Hardware | What NCsoft said |
|---|---|---|
July 16, 2026 | Laptops with NVIDIA RTX 5000 series GPUs | The game closed when DLSS 4.5 was used with the latest drivers. NCsoft temporarily disabled DLSS on those laptops while it investigated with NVIDIA. |
August 19, 2026 | RTX 50 series laptop GPUs | DLSS Frame Generation was re-enabled with the August 19 update. Players using it were told to set Vertical Sync to On in the NVIDIA Control Panel's global 3D settings, and to turn G-SYNC off, because some setups with G-SYNC on still crashed. |
October 7, 2026 | AMD Radeon 8060S integrated graphics | Fixed characters not being visible. |
October 7, 2026 | Any GPU using FSR | Fixed several visual artifacts that appeared with FSR on. |
The Korean guidebook also documents game controller support as a beta feature, last updated on January 5, 2026, with a full gamepad layout. The global launch FAQ says controllers work but are not officially supported.
Item | Status |
|---|---|
macOS or Linux client | Not offered. The storefront lists Windows only. A Mac line item appeared once in a Korean patch note's mobile section and was retracted the same day, so no Mac client should be assumed. |
Console version | No console release is announced or listed on any official storefront as of September 27, 2026, and a pre-release FAQ posted on September 16, 2026 said the global version is being developed exclusively for PC. |
Mobile client for the global build | Not part of the global release. See the Korean requirements above and Global Launch and Platforms . |
Upscaling and frame generation | The client supports modern upscaling on supported hardware. NCsoft showed the game running with NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 in an official video on September 1, 2026, and the client's open-source notice lists NVIDIA DLSS and Streamline alongside AMD FidelityFX libraries. NCsoft has not published a per-feature support matrix in the specification itself. |
Ray tracing | Not listed in the published specification. |
Controller support | Not declared on the storefront. NCsoft said on September 16, 2026 that the game is playable with a controller but that it was still evaluating full controller support for launch. Its launch FAQ of September 30, 2026 says the game is playable with a controller but that controllers are not officially supported. |
Linux and Steam Deck | Not officially supported. The September 30, 2026 launch FAQ says the game may be playable on other platforms or devices, but official support covers only Steam and PURPLE on Windows PC. |
Global Launch and Platforms covers distribution, regions and languages. Launch Scale Test covers the free open test and its pre-download window. AION 2 Overview is the starting point for the rest of the wiki.
