AION 2 is a PC-only release built on Unreal Engine 5, and NCsoft has published a single Windows specification that covers both distribution routes. The same client runs whether you install it through Steam or through the publisher's PURPLE launcher, so the numbers below apply to either.
Published Specification
Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
Operating system | Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit | Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit |
Processor | AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or Intel Core i5-10500 | AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel Core i7-11700 |
Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
Graphics | NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB) | NVIDIA RTX 2070 (8 GB) |
DirectX | Version 12 | Version 12 |
Network | Broadband internet connection | Broadband internet connection |
Storage | 100 GB available space | 100 GB available space |
Both tiers require a 64-bit processor and a 64-bit operating system. There is no 32-bit client.
Graphics Presets and the FHD Note
NCsoft attaches a preset recommendation to each tier rather than leaving it to the launcher. On minimum-spec hardware the guidance is to set the in-game graphics preset to Very Low when playing at 1920 by 1080; on recommended-spec hardware the guidance is Low at the same resolution. Both tiers also carry an SSD recommendation.
Read those preset notes as part of the specification rather than as a suggestion. A GTX 1050 Ti at Very Low is the configuration NCsoft is describing when it calls that card the minimum, so a minimum-spec machine should not be expected to hold a stable frame rate at higher presets, and the recommended tier is positioned for 1080p rather than for higher resolutions.
Storage
The 100 GB figure is identical at both tiers and is listed as available space rather than installed size, so plan for headroom on top of it for patching. Pre-download for the Launch Scale Test opened a day before that test began, and the same pattern is expected ahead of advance access.
The Korean Service Publishes Mobile and Tablet Requirements Too
The specification above covers the global PC release. The Korean service runs Android and iOS clients alongside the PC one and publishes its own device requirements for them. Those numbers do not apply to the global build, which has no mobile client, but they are the only published device requirements AION 2 has and they are worth recording.
Device class | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
Android phone | Galaxy S10, Android 12 | Galaxy S23, Android 15 |
iOS | iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 15 | iPhone 14 series, iOS 18 |
Android tablet | Galaxy Tab S7, Android 12 | Galaxy Tab S9, Android 15 |
iPadOS | iPad Pro with M1, iPadOS 15 | iPad Pro with M4, iPadOS 18 |
Those figures were published for the Korean launch in November 2025 and have not been revised since. The Korean PC requirements in the same document have been revised: they were lowered on May 27, 2026 to the same tier the global storefront now lists, so the Korean and global PC specifications match.
What Is Not in the Published Spec
Item | Status |
|---|---|
macOS or Linux client | Not offered. The storefront lists Windows only. A Mac line item appeared once in a Korean patch note's mobile section and was retracted the same day, so no Mac client should be assumed. |
Console version | No console release is announced or listed on any official storefront as of September 13, 2026. |
Mobile client for the global build | Not part of the global release. See the Korean requirements above and Global Launch and Platforms . |
Upscaling and frame generation | The client supports modern upscaling on supported hardware, but NCsoft has not published a per-feature support matrix in the specification itself. |
Ray tracing | Not listed in the published specification. |
