Server Matching
October 8, 2026 at 10:40 PM
Add all 21 current Korean matching pairs and exact event times.
AION 2 keeps the two factions on separate servers. Each Elyos server is paired with an Asmodian server, and whenever players enter the Abyss or another cross-faction mode such as the Spacetime Rifts, the enemies they meet come from the paired server. NCsoft explained the system in a post published on September 28, 2026 (Pacific time), shortly before Advance Access opened, and said the pairings last for a limited time and will be updated periodically to keep the factions balanced.
NCsoft's earlier notice on how Advance Access works said that during Advance Access the Abyss matches only Advance Access servers with each other, and that after launch servers are matched by how far along and how strong each one is, so that servers at a similar stage meet. Dungeons and other instanced content are cross-server regardless of pairing. The pairings published for Advance Access, in a post NCsoft updated on September 30 as servers were added, were:
Region | Elyos server | Asmodian server |
|---|---|---|
Europe | Siel | Israphel |
Europe | Nezekan | Zikel |
Europe | Vaizel | Triniel |
Europe | Kaisinel | Lumiel |
Europe | Ariel | Azphel |
Europe | Fregion | Ereshkigal |
NA West | Siel | Israphel |
NA East | Siel | Israphel |
NA East | Nezekan | Zikel |
Latin America | Siel | Israphel |
Latin America | Nezekan | Zikel |
Asia | Siel | Israphel |
Further servers opened on September 30, 2026 as queues grew, and NCsoft's matchmaking posts of October 4, 2026 (one of them continuously updated) give the pairings for both the Advance Access servers and the new launch servers. Every pairing is still one Elyos server against one Asmodian server within the same region, for example Siel against Israphel, and the launch servers added later in Europe (Ishtar against Fafnir, Tiamat against Indnath, Gauss against Agnita and Lamuatan against Atiel) were opened as pairs too. NCsoft says the pairings are temporary and will be updated periodically to keep the factions balanced. Servers and Regions has the complete server and pairing list.
Server transfers open on October 14, 2026, free at first and within the same faction, and Advance Access characters can move only between Advance Access servers; see Server Transfer.
The Korean service has run the same system since November 19, 2025, and its history shows how matching tends to evolve.
Season 1 used fixed one-to-one pairings, and matched servers shared the Spacetime Rifts and the Abyss.
Rematching has happened roughly every two weeks, sometimes three, on maintenance days, usually Wednesdays (the June 4 rematch fell on a Thursday); the patch notes give no fixed cycle. Rematches were announced for February 11 and 25, March 11 and 25, April 8 and 22, May 13, June 4, June 17, July 1 and 15, July 29, August 12 and 26, September 9 and 23, and October 7, 2026. The October 7 note calls its rematch the eighth server matching of Chapter 1.
Every rematch resets Artifact ownership and the Abyss Corridors.
On March 25, 2026 Abyss matching changed so that servers of the same faction can be matched against each other. In NCsoft's English wording, the two sides of the Chaotic Abyss are the West and East forces. Spacetime Rifts still match only opposing factions.
The rematch notes set event start times per matching group, which is why the artifact battle and Abyss bosses start at slightly different times in different groups.
Since the summer of 2026 the update notes no longer list the new pairings; each one points to NCsoft's community manager notices for the results.
Matched servers are organised into matching groups, and scheduled Abyss events start a little later in each group so that they do not all begin at once. The October 7, 2026 matching results give three repeating schedule bands across 21 groups, listed below.
Dungeon matching groups were merged with the existing servers on December 17, 2025, and Expedition, Transcendence and Sanctuary became cross-faction on March 11, 2026, so Elyos and Asmodians can group for them. See Parties and Forces.
The Abyss Rift Zone switched on July 15, 2026 from matched servers fighting each other to one matching per side across all servers, opening extra channels when it fills, with every group starting at 10 PM.
As of October 7, 2026, NCsoft has not said whether the global service will adopt same-faction Abyss matching; its announced global pairings are one Elyos server against one Asmodian server.
These are the October 7, 2026 pairings and event times, added in detail to the notice on October 8. Names below retain the official Korean server labels. All times are Korean server time. Artifact battles and Abyss bosses run Wednesdays and Saturdays; Nahma runs Fridays and Sundays.
