Runes (룬) are a Special-grade accessory slot in AION 2. There are two Runes, the Clash Rune (격돌의 룬; the global client's name) and the Devotion Rune (전념의 룬; the global client has its enhancement scroll as Devotion Rune Enhance Scroll). According to the official guidebook, Runes raise stats such as Additional Attack, Additional Defense and PvE or PvP stats depending on the Rune, and enhancing them raises Damage Tolerance among other stats. Enhancement and Destruction
Runes enhance to +10, and they are the one equipment type that can be destroyed: from +2 upward a failed attempt destroys the Rune instead of keeping it, and there is no bonus chance for failures. Each step uses one Rune Enhance Scroll of the matching Rune plus Kina and Enhancement Stones.

Since February 25, 2026 the Devotion Rune also gains PvP Accuracy with each enhancement level: 30, 60, 90, 120 and 150 at +1 to +5, then 200, 250, 300, 400 and 500 at +6 to +10.
Getting Runes and Scrolls
Clash Rune Boxes have been handed out through events: the 2026 New Year pouches, attendance events and the summer event coin shop all included them, and the Chapter 1 coupon gave a Clash Rune bundle.
Season 3's Shugo growth boosting event gave a +3 Clash Rune Set Bundle as a milestone reward.
Since January 14, 2026, spare Clash and Devotion Rune Enhance Scrolls can be converted into Enhancement Stones through material conversion.
A Korean community guide for new and returning players lists a +5 Rune as part of its quick gearing setup. That is community practice rather than a rule.
