Kina and Quna

Added the global Quna pack prices, what Quna buys at launch, Korean service currency notes and the warning about third-party currency sellers
AION 2's economy runs on two currencies, and the relationship between them is the single most consequential design decision in the game's business model.
Currency | Where it comes from | What it buys |
|---|---|---|
Kina | Earned through gameplay | The currency of the Market , crafting fees, repairs, most in-world transactions, and some convenience items |
Quna | Bought with real money, or acquired from another player through the Exchange | Shop items, the Premium Track of a Daeva Pass , and other Quna-priced products |
Quna and Kina convert into each other through an exchange that runs entirely between players. One player lists Kina for sale, another spends Quna to buy it. NCsoft has been explicit that the game itself makes no listings and no purchases on that exchange, which means the rate is set by players rather than by a published conversion.
The practical consequence is the one players care about: Quna bought with money can become Kina, and Kina earned by playing can become Quna. A player who never spends can still reach Quna-priced content by selling Kina, and a player who spends can convert into the in-game economy.
Using the Exchange requires an active Membership. So does trading on the Market.
On the global service Quna is bought inside AION 2. The global support FAQ says NCoin cannot be used to buy Quna or any other premium item, that checkout currently supports US dollars only, and that purchases through Steam draw on the Steam Wallet. NCsoft published the global Quna packs on September 30, 2026: 400 Quna for $5.99, 1,000 for $14.99, 2,000 for $29.99 and 4,000 for $59.99, at PURPLE store prices, sold in game under Shop, Quna Shop, Recharge. See Monetization and Memberships for the rest of the payment rules.
The September 30, 2026 product notices give a sense of scale for the global service. A Daeva Pass Premium track costs 1,000 or 1,500 Quna and extra pass levels 50 Quna each; an armor skin set sold for Quna costs 2,200; helm, decor and emote items cost 300 each. On the Tsenka Merchants consumables shop a Resurrection Spiritstone is 100 Quna, a Hidden Cube key 50, inventory and storage expansions 200 each, a name change 500 and an Atreian Pledge of Allegiance 1,000. Some items have a Kina price instead: the Tsenka Merchants sell the Pagati pet for 2,000,000 Kina, once per server. See In-Game Shop and Daeva Pass.
The Korean service uses the same two currencies; Quna is written 큐나 in Korean. There Daeva Pass Basic tracks are priced in Kina (2,000,000 Kina for the main seasonal passes), Premium tracks cost 1,000 to 1,500 Quna, and the members' Wind Breeze Merchants shop sells items for Kina. Kina prices there are adjusted in weekly updates; on October 7, 2026, for example, the Wind Breeze Merchants cut the Kina prices of bound Resurrection Spiritstones and the pet auto-pickup ticket, and a two-week event added up to 30 extra Resurrection Spiritstones (Bound) per character per week at 25,000 Kina each for characters of level 45 and above. Weekly changes are listed month by month from Update History.
On October 4, 2026 NCsoft warned global players that buying Kina or Quna from unauthorised third parties breaks the Terms of Service and can lead to losing access to the game, and that it may disclose the disciplinary action it takes. The global operation policy lists real-money trading of items or in-game currency among the sanctionable offences.
Not all Kina is tradeable. The Korean and Taiwanese build has progressively split it, adding bound Kina in March 2026 and then converting the Kina earned in several dungeons into bound form during July and August 2026. Bound Kina spends on fees and vendors but does not move between players, which is NCsoft tightening the tap of tradeable currency flowing out of instanced content.
On the global service, one of the viewer rewards during Advance Access was a Kina Bundle 500,000 (Bound), the launch attendance log pays out up to 1,000,000 bound Kina on its seventh day, and the Daeva Pass pays bound Kina at several levels, and NCsoft notes that bound items cannot be traded. The reward name also confirms the Kina spelling used in global announcements.
The currency is Kina. The original AION's currency was Kinah with an h, and a handful of early English write-ups carried that spelling over. NCsoft's own English material and every current source use Kina, and this wiki follows it.
Quna is the premium currency. The Membership product is separately called the Special Quai Membership, without the n. They are two different words and the similarity is not a typo on either side.
The Market for where Kina is spent between players. Monetization and Memberships for the Membership and the shop. Odyle Energy for the other resource that gates content. Getting Started for what a new player actually needs.
