AION 2 is being released in two waves. The Korean and Taiwanese launch shipped on November 19, 2025, and the global launch is confirmed for the second half of 2026. NCsoft has confirmed the global launch as PC-only, distributed simultaneously through Steam and the publisher's NCsoft Purple platform. No exact date inside that window has been locked.

Region | Status |
|---|---|
Korea | Live since November 19, 2025 |
Taiwan | Live since November 19, 2025 |
Global (NA, SA, EU, Japan) | Confirmed for the second half of 2026. No exact date is locked. |
The global release is a PC-only game. The Korean and Taiwanese build is a PC and mobile release with cross-play through the Purple launcher, but mobile and cross-play are not part of the global launch. When reading KR or TW coverage, treat any mobile or cross-platform feature as specific to those regions, not the global PC version.
Platform | Notes |
|---|---|
Steam | Steam app ID 3393110; the Steam wishlist is live |
NCsoft Purple | Publisher's own client; cross-distributes the same client and account as Steam |
The global launch will host servers in North America, South America, Europe, and Japan. Cross-region play is not the default; players will connect to the regional cluster appropriate to their selected server. Korea and Taiwan retain their own server clusters.
AION 2 will ship with text and UI localization in ten languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. Voice localization, where supported, is a subset of those languages and varies by character and cinematic.
AION 2 is built on Unreal Engine 5. NCsoft has published recommended specs that target a mainstream gaming PC, and the client supports modern upscaling and frame-generation features on supported hardware, with the exact coverage set by the live client and driver releases. Settings scale up significantly for players running higher-tier GPUs. Check the Steam store page for the current published specification before launch.
AION 2 is free-to-play. The detailed monetization model, including memberships, the premium currency Quna, and cosmetic battle passes, is covered on the Monetization and Memberships page. NCsoft has stated the global terms will be tuned for Western markets and has not finalized them as of this article's writing.

Watch the official channels for the next dev showcase, which is expected to deepen the global-launch information.
Follow regional server announcements once they are scheduled; cross-region play is not the default and your server choice is sticky.
NCsoft's marketing for the global launch ramps up through 2026, with new trailers, showcase events, and a recurring livestream series that anchors content reveals. Specific event dates and showcase details are announced on the official channels closer to each appearance; treat any single date circulating ahead of an official announcement as provisional until NCsoft confirms it.
The next confirmed pre-launch milestone is a dev showcase scheduled for mid-June 2026 in Seoul, with a closed-invite audience of around 150 attendees. The showcase is expected to deepen public information on the global build's content roadmap and live-service cadence. Coverage from that event typically clarifies which KR and TW build features carry over to the global launch and which are tuned for Western markets; specific details from the event will appear in the published recap once it lands.
