Global Launch and Platforms

Added Q3 2026 narrowing from the latest earnings call, marketing-milestones note, and tightened the DLSS hardware language
AION 2 is being released in two waves. The Korean and Taiwanese launch shipped on November 19, 2025, and the global launch is confirmed for the second half of 2026. NCsoft and NC America have confirmed the global launch as PC-only, distributed simultaneously through Steam and the publisher's NCsoft Purple platform. NCsoft's Q1 2026 earnings call has narrowed the target inside that window to the third quarter, though no exact date has been locked.

Global (NA, SA, EU, Japan) | Confirmed for the second half of 2026; NCsoft's Q1 2026 earnings call narrowed the target to the third quarter. No exact date is locked. |
Platform | Notes |

Steam | Steam app ID 3393110; Steam wishlist is live; Steam achievements and overlay supported |
NCsoft Purple | Publisher's own client; cross-distributes the same client and account as Steam |
The global launch will host servers in North America, South America, Europe, and Japan. Cross-region play is not the default; players will connect to the regional cluster appropriate to their selected server. Korea and Taiwan retain their own server clusters.
AION 2 will ship with text and UI localization in ten languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. Voice localization, where supported, is a subset of those languages and varies by character and cinematic.
AION 2 is built on Unreal Engine 5. NCsoft has published recommended specs in the RTX 2070 and 16 GB RAM range, and the recommended-spec range supports modern NVIDIA upscaling and frame-generation features on supported hardware; specific version coverage is set by the live client and varies with driver releases. Settings scale up significantly for players running higher-tier GPUs.
In the KR build, AION 2 is free-to-play with two optional monthly memberships, a per-character cosmetic battle pass on roughly a two-month cycle, and a cosmetic cash shop. The premium currency Quna can be exchanged for in-game gold (Kinah), which has driven monetization debate in the player community. Whether the global launch ships the same model is not yet confirmed; NCsoft has stated the global terms will be tuned for Western markets but has not finalized them as of this article's writing.
Add the game to your Steam wishlist (app ID 3393110) to receive launch notifications.
Sign up for the global newsletter on the official site to be notified about beta tests, founder packs, and pre-launch character creation events.
Watch the official channels for the next dev showcase, which is expected to deepen the global-launch information.
Follow regional server announcements once they are scheduled; cross-region play is not the default and your server choice is sticky.
NCsoft's marketing ramp for the global launch begins in early June 2026. The publisher confirmed a Summer Game Fest appearance on Friday, June 5, 2026, with a new trailer planned for the showing. A dedicated AION 2 Showcase follows on June 14, 2026 in Gangseo-gu, Seoul as an offline event; 150 attendees are selected by lottery from applications submitted before May 25, with winners announced June 1. The recurring AION2NIGHT livestream series continues to anchor regular content reveals, including the May 12, 2026 broadcast that previewed the May 13 update and the upcoming Muspel's Chalice Sanctuary.
