Revision 3

Draupnir is an Expedition dungeon in AION 2 for up to five players. It was one of the Exploration dungeons listed on launch day of the Korean and Taiwanese service, November 19, 2025, and NCsoft's English global teaser site presents it as one of four showcase Expeditions.

As of October 7, 2026, NCsoft's global notices have not listed which Expedition dungeons are open in the global build that launched on October 5, 2026; they say that all instanced content, including dungeons, is available cross-server. Everything on this page describes the Korean and Taiwanese service unless it says otherwise.

Modes

Draupnir has Exploration and Conquest versions, with Conquest Hard added on December 17, 2025. Its Exploration version was reworked twice in 2026. On February 25 the equipment it pays out through Odyle Energy was changed to the same items as Conquest, and level 45 and higher Exploration dungeons in general had their gear chance raised to half of the Conquest rate. On April 8 its Exploration cost was set to 40 Odyle Energy with better rewards, and a one-time guaranteed reward was added for the first three Exploration clears.

On March 4, 2026 the guaranteed Exploration reward changed from Transcendent armour to Bakarma's armour (provisional English renderings of 초월자의 방어구 and 바카르마의 방어구). The April 8 rework also set the Unique-grade gear chance in Exploration to the Conquest level and paid Exploration Kina at 80% of the Conquest amount, as bound Kina.

Entry Requirements

Levels and item levels are the game data's; a June 2026 player-compiled table gives the same Hard figure. Exploration has cost 40 Odyle Energy since April 8, 2026. Before that its cube paid 1,500 Enhancement Stones against 2,000 for Conquest, in proportion to the Odyle Energy spent.

Location

Draupnir's entrance originally lay in the Abyss. On March 11, 2026 NCsoft moved it to each faction's homeland, Verteron for the Elyos and Altgard for the Asmodians, and reordered the episode quests so that Draupnir is completed before a character first enters the Abyss.

Route

A control device near the start opens a shaft into the depths; gliding straight from the drop reaches the first boss. After it, the path leads to a Kisk and an updraft that carries the party to the second boss, and a windstream device near the Kisk carries them to the final boss. Groups that only want the final boss can fly straight to the windstream from the shaft.

Bosses

A December 3, 2025 patch lowered the stagger needed to interrupt Bakarma's Wave of Death attack. See Bakarma for the other Expedition where a form of the same boss appears. English boss names come from the game client's English data.

Boss Mechanics

Predator Saraswati

Saraswati jumps and fires poison that leaves pools of periodic damage on the floor; on Hard they kill quickly, so the rule is to step out at once and keep the boss on clean ground. A poison cloud can also turn a player into a larva, taking away their control for a time.

Phantasmal Lakshmi

Lakshmi lifts the whole party into the air with a circular attack that has to be blocked or dodged, because a stunned group can be finished by the follow-up. While she casts projectiles from above she stands still, which is the best time to deal damage. Around half health a healing servant joins her and should die first. A January 7, 2026 patch gave her lines for her reflect skill.

Transcendent Bakarma

Bakarma's two big phases come, by player accounts, at roughly two thirds and one third of his health. The screen darkens and rhythmic waves pulse out from the centre; they have to be jumped a beat early. Afterwards the party has to fill his stagger bar or wipe, so strong stagger skills are saved for this moment. In the second phase black whirlwinds block the approach. He also leaps high and dives, sending out another wave on landing. On Hard the whirlwinds appear before the first phase and the second phase adds faster rings and projectiles.

Kina and Material Changes

• April 8, 2026: Conquest and Exploration Kina became bound Kina.

• July 1, 2026: Conquest Hard Kina became bound Kina.

• September 9, 2026: Draconic crafting materials became bound only.

Drop Rates

Drop rates are the ones NCsoft published when it raised Conquest Normal rewards and added Hard on December 17, 2025. Each named boss the party kills adds its own loot list to the Odyle Energy Cube opened after the final boss, which is why full clears pay more than runs that skip to the end.
