Initial version: Chapter 1 Land of Sand and Frost upcoming-content page (July 1, 2026 KR and TW update announced at the June 14 Summer Festa)
Chapter 1: Land of Sand and Frost is a major content update for AION 2 announced at the June 14, 2026 Summer Festa showcase and scheduled for July 1, 2026 on the Korean and Taiwanese build. It is the first of NCsoft's larger Chapter-style updates, which group content into a single named release rather than numbered seasons. Everything described on this page is announced and not yet live; specific values and the official English names of new zones may change before the update ships, and which parts reach the September 2026 global build at launch has not been stated.
The Chapter 1 update bundles a new playable class, two new territories, several PvP and PvE modes, and a set of horizontal lifestyle systems. The headline additions are below.
Addition | What It Is |
|---|---|
Fistmaster | A ninth class, a fists-and-feet melee fighter that builds Rage and detonates it to enter a Berserk state. See Classes for the class overview. |
Eltnen | A new Elyos territory with new stories and quests. See World and Regions. |
Morheim | A new Asmodian territory with new stories and quests. |
Occupation Battle | A stat-equalized battleground where combat power, stats, and skills are normalized for all participants. See PvP and the Abyss. |
Outland | A battle-royale mode reported to support around 100 players. The exact cap is not yet confirmed in an official patch note. |
Horizontal content | Lifestyle systems announced for the update: sailing, fishing, and housing, alongside competitive difficulty-scaling PvE modes. |
Korean coverage of the showcase also lists additional endgame content tied to the Chapter 1 release, including a Chaotic Ereshulanta Surface Layer, a time-and-space battle-for-supremacy mode, and new Expedition, Transcendence, and Sanctuary dungeons. The official English names for some of these zones are not finalized, so the Korean-build descriptions here are provisional until the July 1 patch notes publish them.
NCsoft's Korean live service brands this release as Chapter 1 rather than a numbered season. The update lands around the game's six-month anniversary on the Korean and Taiwanese build, which is why some early framing referred to an anniversary season; the shipped name is the Chapter 1 update.
