The Q-Watch is Bond's signature gadget in 007 First Light. It is modeled on an Omega Seamaster chronograph and functions as a hacking and environmental-trigger device. The Q-Watch is one of the four launch-loadout gadgets unlocked after the mission The Heart of the Matter.
Function
Capability | Effect |
|---|---|
Camera hack | Disables nearby security cameras for 45 seconds without triggering an alarm |
Environmental trigger | Activates chandeliers, burst gas valves, broken electronics, fire extinguishers, and other prepared environmental kills |
Grenade defuse | Hacks an enemy grenade in mid-air to defuse it (trophy: Damp Squib) |
Alarm panel hack | Disables alarm panels and unlocks electronic doors |
Force-detonation | Detonates enemy explosives at a chosen moment |
Unlock
The Q-Watch unlocks after mission The Heart of the Matter alongside the Q-Lens, Laser Strap, and Dart Phone. From that mission onward, it is selectable in the three-slot Q Branch gadget loadout.
In-Fiction Brand
The Q-Watch is canonically an Omega Seamaster chronograph. The brand placement is presented as Q Branch's engineering choice: the Seamaster's existing chronograph movement is the chassis Q used to integrate the hacking circuitry.
Collectible Highlighting
Beyond hacking, the Q-Watch doubles as the game's collectible finder. Holding the highlight button (L1 on PlayStation, LB on Xbox) near a Collectibles item marks it in yellow, making nearby Playing Cards, MI6 Files, Mementos, Postcards, and Legacy Items easier to spot. Because the Q-Watch is unlocked during the early-campaign Q-Lab visit, this highlight ability is available for almost the entire collectible hunt.
