The Scouting Drone is the Legion of Truth scout, a Tier 0 flyer bought at the Garrison Tower for 25 hexite in 10 seconds. It carries 75 health, moves at 650, sees 18 and costs no supply, and a player may own three at a time. It has no weapon and no abilities. Vision is the entire unit.

The Xol field a unit with the same display name, which is why this page carries the faction in its title. The two are separate units with separate records; the Xol version is covered at Scouting Drone (Xol).

Figures below describe the September 2026 Early Access build, the one carrying the identifier ZS.c36778, and they move with the weekly patch cadence. Roughly half the versus roster had a stat touched in the fortnight before that build was captured, so treat every number here as dated rather than permanent.

Conversion Costs

None, and one of those absences is recent. Reanimate is the Legion conversion mechanic, paid out of the same top bar power pool as the Grell Infuse and the Xol Replicate. While the unit lives it attacks and moves 30% faster. When it dies it gets back up, 30% slower than the original, and keeps fighting. On August 11, 2026 the studio removed the Scouting Drone as a legal Reanimate target, and the record now lists the unit as ineligible for all three conversions.

Role

Vision 18 is the joint highest in the Legion roster, shared with the Exalted, the Dreadnought and the Emperor Projection, and it is attached here to the cheapest body the faction can buy. At 650 move speed and flying, the drone goes where ground scouting cannot and gets there quickly.

The cap of three owned is what keeps it a scouting unit rather than a vision network. A Legion player gets three windows onto the map and has to choose where they point.

The August 2026 changes all pushed in the same direction, making the drone cheaper to field and worth less to kill. Supply went from 1 to 0, health from 100 to 75, and the 25 hexite bounty for killing one was removed on August 28. A scout is now close to free to own and gives the enemy nothing for removing it.

Faction Context

The Scouting Drone comes out of the Garrison Tower alongside the Legion Labourer and the Legion Build Drone, the three Tier 0 units that cost no supply.

The Protectorate fields its own scouting drone, and the August 11, 2026 patch applied the same health and supply changes to both, along with a matching restriction on the Protectorate Shield. The change was a cross faction rule about scouting units rather than a Legion balance decision.

Tier and Armour Interactions

Light armour with an armour value of 0 on a 75 health flier. Armor is also a number held separately from the type. It subtracts flat damage from every hit with a floor of 1 damage, so it blunts fast weak attacks far more than single heavy ones. None of it applies here, so the drone dies to a single attack from most weapons that can shoot upward.

The Flyer tag is a tag rather than an armour type and it is what keeps the unit alive at all: the ground army it is scouting usually cannot shoot it.

The unit display name in the data is simply Scouting Drone. The faction qualifier in this page title exists because the Xol field a unit with the identical display name, and both need their own article.
