The Emperor Projection is the Legion of Truth Ultimate tier unit and the payoff for everything the faction spends its troops on. Five thousand health, an armour value of 2, a status resist of 100 and a 100 damage swing with splash make it the largest single body the Legion can put on a map. It is not built and it is not bought: a Ritual Site summons it and destroys itself doing so, and every Thrall sacrificed in range makes the result bigger.
Figures below describe the September 2026 Early Access build, the one carrying the identifier ZS.c36778, and they move with the weekly patch cadence. Roughly half the versus roster had a stat touched in the fortnight before that build was captured, so treat every number here as dated rather than permanent.

Weapons
Weapon | Damage | DPS | Range | Cooldown | Targets | Bonuses |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Attack | 100 | 71 | 3 | 1.4s | Ground | +100% against buildings, for 200 a swing. 100% splash over 1.75 range |
The weapon is published with the generic name Attack rather than a proper name, which is unusual on a unit of this size and is one of the gaps in this record. Full splash over 1.75 range means every swing hits everything packed near the target for the same 100.
Abilities
None. The record publishes no spell and no passive. Everything the unit does it does with its attack and its health pool.
Upgrades
None. The unit has no upgrade path.
Summoning
This is where the missing cost row actually lives. The Ritual Site is an Ultimate tier Legion structure costing 300 hexite and 35 seconds to build. Casting Spawn Emperor on it starts a 40 second timer, after which the Ritual Site spawns the Emperor Projection and then destroys itself.
During that window the ritual is fed. Every point of supply of Thrall sacrificed within range of the Ritual Site, up to a ceiling of 30 supply, grants the summoned Emperor +50 health and +5 attack damage. Three units carry the data tag that marks Legion thrall bodies, and their supply costs set what each is worth:
Sacrifice | Supply | Health granted | Damage granted |
|---|---|---|---|
1 | +50 | +5 | |
2 | +100 | +10 | |
4 | +200 | +20 |
At the 30 supply ceiling that is +1,500 health and +150 damage, taking a fully fed Emperor Projection to 6,500 health and 250 damage a swing, or 500 against a building.
Conversion Costs
None. The Emperor Projection is not eligible for Infuse, Reanimate or Replicate, so the three conversion rows on other unit pages have no values here. Reanimate is the Legion conversion mechanic, paid out of the same top bar power pool as the Grell Infuse and the Xol Replicate. While the unit lives it attacks and moves 30% faster. When it dies it gets back up, 30% slower than the original, and keeps fighting. None of that applies to this unit: a summoned Emperor cannot be given a second life by the faction that summoned it.
Role
Seventy one damage a second with full splash over 1.75 range, on a body with 5,000 health and a status resist of 100, is a unit that walks into an army and is not easily stopped or slowed. Doubling against buildings makes it a base ending threat as much as a battlefield one, at 200 a swing and 400 with the splash landing on an adjacent structure.
Two limitations shape how it is used. Range 3 is close to contact, so the Emperor has to reach what it kills, and 600 move speed is quick for its size but not quick enough to chase. More seriously it cannot attack air at all, so a Legion player who commits a ritual into an enemy air army has spent a Ritual Site and up to 30 supply of troops on a unit that cannot shoot back.
Supply 0 is the redeeming detail. The Emperor occupies no army cap, so the supply price is paid in the Thralls fed to the ritual rather than in the unit itself.
Faction Context
This is the mechanical end of the faction pitch. The official Legion page says Thralls fall in waves to summon the might of the Emperor himself, and the Ritual Site is where that stops being flavour: the cheap bodies are literally converted into the Emperor stat line at a fixed exchange rate.
Within the roster the Emperor Projection shares the Massive tag with the Terror Tank, the Dreadnought and the Monolith structure. It is the only Legion unit at Ultimate tier.
Tier and Armour Interactions
Medium armour on a 5,000 health unit is a deliberate softness. Medium is the most targeted armour type in the game, so the Emperor takes bonus damage from a large part of the roster despite its size. Armor is also a number held separately from the type. It subtracts flat damage from every hit with a floor of 1 damage, so it blunts fast weak attacks far more than single heavy ones. An armour value of 2 is the highest in the Legion unit roster and does real work against the swarms that would otherwise chip it down.
A status resist of 100 is the ceiling. Stuns, slows and mind control are the usual answer to a single enormous body, and this is the unit built to ignore them.
Counters
Strong Against
Target | Why |
|---|---|
Buildings | +100% against buildings takes 100 damage to 200 a swing, with splash onto adjacent structures. |
Packed ground armies | 100% splash over 1.75 range means every swing hits the whole clump. |
Control heavy armies | A status resist of 100 is the highest in the faction. |
Weak To
Threat | Why |
|---|---|
Air units | The Emperor cannot attack air at all. A flier is a complete answer to it. |
Bonuses against Medium armour | The Grell Skrell deals +100% into Medium and flies. |
Kiting | Range 3 on a unit that has no ability to close the gap. |
Notes
The roster record for this unit is PARTIAL. Two fields are named as missing: cost and description.
Missing field | What is actually known |
|---|---|
Cost | The record publishes 0 hexite and 0 flux, which is a real value rather than a hole. The unit is summoned by a Ritual Site costing 300 hexite, plus whatever the player sacrifices into it. |
Description | The record publishes no description text for this unit at all. Nothing here fills that in. |
The 5 second build time is a real published value and should not be read as the time to field an Emperor. The Ritual Site 40 second Spawn Emperor timer is the figure that matters.
Per unit numbers are drawn from a community maintained entity catalogue that the studio links from each of its own faction pages. It is the only place the full stat block is published, and it is not a studio document, so the figures are best read as careful community documentation of a build rather than as an official specification. Dated balance notes, by contrast, come straight from the studio patch posts.
