Overview
Every craftable weapon in Windrose upgrades along a fixed item-level track from 1 to 15. Each upgrade is performed at the Weaponsmith Workshop and raises the weapon's ATK by a fixed amount per level. Weapons share a table structure with different material costs by weapon class; the tables below cover every class that has documented bands.
Bands group adjacent levels together because those levels share the same recipe. The workshop tier required (Lvl 1, 2, or 3) scales with the band. Firearms require Master's Tools from Level 7 upward; standard melee weapons use Smithing Flux instead. After Level 15, a weapon is eligible for ascension; see Upgrade System for the ascension rules.

Plague Pistol
The Plague variant pistol uses a distinct recipe because it requires Ingot Arborum for every band. Copper Ingot costs are reduced compared to other pistols, but the Arborum requirement makes mid-Foothills sourcing a prerequisite.

|---|---|---|
Lvl 2-5 | Weaponsmith Workshop Lvl 1 | Wood x10, Copper Ingot x3, Ingot Arborum x5 |
Lvl 6 | Weaponsmith Workshop Lvl 2 | Hardwood x5, Foothills Iron Ingot x2, Ingot Arborum x4, Master's Tools x3 |

Polearm and Club Three-Band
Applies to: Club, Halberd. These weapons compress the 15-level track into three bands and use Smithing Flux instead of Master's Tools.
Item Level | Station | Materials |
|---|---|---|
Lvl 2-5 | Weaponsmith Workshop Lvl 1 | Wood x10, Copper Ingot x7 |
Lvl 6-10 | Weaponsmith Workshop Lvl 2 | Hardwood x12, Foothills Iron Ingot x5, Smithing Flux x3 |
Lvl 11-15 | Weaponsmith Workshop Lvl 3 | Hardwood x8, Mire Metal Ingot x5, Smithing Flux x3 |
Note: the Club base recipe uses Copper Ingot x5; the Halberd base recipe uses Copper Ingot x7. The upper bands match.
Smasher Five-Band
Applies to: Smasher only. The Smasher uses a five-band track instead of the standard three-band pattern for other clubs, reflecting its fishing-reward origin and single-tier rarity.

Lvl 6 | Weaponsmith Workshop Lvl 2 | Hardwood x6, Foothills Iron Ingot x3, Smithing Flux x3 |

After Level 15: Ascension
Once a weapon hits Item Level 15, ascension converts the Rare variant into its Epic counterpart. Ascension is a one-time recipe that uses Tumbaga Ingot (typical cost 7 for one-handed weapons, 9 for two-handed weapons). The Epic resulting weapon keeps the same upgrade level as the input, so pushing to 15 before ascending is usually the best path. See Upgrade System for the full mechanic and rarity-line explanation.
