Walls is the vertical enclosure pieces that turn a floor platform into a shelter. Windrose offers 46 wall pieces split across three sub-groups: standard Square Bits, Special shapes, and Triangular walls.
Group | Count | Role |
|---|---|---|
Walls: Square Bits | 24 | Standard rectangular wall panels in every material tier. Small (1x1) and Large (1x2) sizes. |
Walls: Special | 11 | Non-rectangular shapes: arch walls, corner walls, inclined walls, facade sections, panels, semi-rounded walls, and ceramic cornices. |
Walls: 26° / 45° / 64° | 19 | Angled walls matching roof pitches. Used under peaked roofs to close off gables. |
Walls are available across every building material tier. The same wall shape can be built in any of twelve material styles once their recipe plans are unlocked:
Material | Cost (Small Wall) | Max Health |
|---|---|---|
Leaves | Plant Fiber x1 | 750 |
Sticks | Plant Fiber x1 or Wood x1 | 750 |
Bark | Wood x2 | 750 |
Log | Wood x3 | 1,500 |
Planks | Wood x2 | 1,500 |
Clay | Clay x2 | 1,500 |
Clay and Log | Wood x2, Clay x2 | 1,500 |
Plaster | Clay x1, Stone x2 | 1,500 |
Limestone | Stone x3 | 2,500 |
Mahogany | Hardwood x3 | 2,500 |
Stone | Stone x3 | 2,500 |
Stone and Timber | Wood x2, Stone x3 | 2,500 |
Large Wall variants cost double the materials and have the same Max Health as their Small Wall counterparts but cover twice the surface area.
Piece | Role |
|---|---|
Arch Wall (Plaster) | A wall with a decorative arch cutout. Often used over doorways in estate-tier architecture. |
Corner Wall (Stone) | A 90-degree corner piece that closes off the gap where two perpendicular walls meet. |
Cornice (Ceramic) | Decorative trim that sits at the top of plaster walls to blend into tile roofs. |
Facade Section (Plaster) | A large decorative wall section used for flat estate frontages. |
Inclined Wall (Stone) | An angled wall used to fill gaps under staircases or sloped roofs. |
Left Panel / Right Panel (Planks / Stone and Timber) | Side-of-building decorative panels in plank and stone-timber material. |
Semi-Rounded Wall (Clay) | A curved clay wall used to build rounded rooms or tower exteriors. |
Wall Corner (Plaster) | A plaster corner piece for forming outside corners on estate-tier buildings. |
Walls snap to the edge of any floor or foundation piece. They also snap to other walls vertically, letting you stack multiple wall courses to form a tall room. Any wall that has a door slot or window slot will accept matching door or window pieces once you place them.
Walls need to be within Bonfire range only if you want the room inside to be considered Comfort-affecting. Structural pieces themselves do not require Bonfire range, but stations placed inside will.
Plant Fiber walls are the cheapest starter option. Two Plant Fiber walls plus a Leaf roof cap form a single-room shelter that meets the roof requirement for most early-game merchants and crafting stations.
Stone walls take a Stone Pickaxe and a stone quarry (found on Coastal Jungle islands) to source; budget multiple hours of gathering for a four-wall stone cabin.
Large Wall variants are more material-efficient than two Small Walls because they cover the same area in a single placement with a single HP pool.
Build corners with Corner Walls (Stone) or dedicated corner pillars; plain walls will not always align cleanly at perpendicular joins.
Mahogany walls require Hardwood which drops from trees on the Foothills islands. Clear Foothills threats to unlock the merchant for faster sourcing.
