Added flavor text, Item Info table, loot/vendor confirmations, full nodes list, and progression guidance
A swamp pickaxe that can break even the hardest rock in no time.
Swamp Pickaxe is the endgame pickaxe in Windrose. Its item description calls out its role directly: it is designed to break even the hardest rock in no time. That makes it the counterpart to the Swamp Axe on the mining side of the tool tree, and it unlocks the last tier of stone and ore nodes in the swamp and Arborum biomes.

The Swamp Pickaxe is a craft-only endgame tool. It is not surfaced as a guaranteed drop from any current loot table, and the ingredient chain is expensive enough that farming for one would not outpace simply crafting it.
The Swamp Pickaxe is not bought or sold by any vendor. The tool is exclusively crafted at a Weaponsmith Workshop Lvl 3.
Mine the hardest rock and highest-tier ore nodes inside the swamp and Arborum biomes. These are the nodes that earlier pickaxes cannot register hits on.
Continue to mine every node type that earlier pickaxes can already handle: Stone, Copper Ore, Foothills Iron Ore, Sulfur, Clay, and Fertile Soil.
Emergency melee fallback with 270 Crude ATK, identical to the Iron Pickaxe. The upgrade is entirely about durability and biome access.
Because the Swamp Pickaxe and the Swamp Axe share the same recipe (5 Ingot Arborum + 10 Hardwood), the same station, and the same tier gate, most players craft both in a single trip to the Weaponsmith Workshop. The pickaxe lasts three times longer than the Stone Pickaxe before breaking and outhits every lower tier, so it doubles as a low-maintenance mining tool for any ore you return to later in the game.
Crafting a Swamp Pickaxe is only worthwhile when Arborum content is actively on your roadmap. The Iron Pickaxe at 200 Durability handles every node through the Foothills without issue, so the Swamp Pickaxe's 300 Durability is more of a convenience upgrade for players who plan to spend long sessions in late-game biomes.
If Ingot Arborum is rationed, the pickaxe is usually a higher-priority craft than the axe: mining hardened swamp rock is the more common bottleneck than cutting cursed trees, and the pickaxe feeds continued resource gathering rather than a single biome-specific wood type.
Bring a stack of spare Ingot Arborum and Hardwood to the Weaponsmith Workshop for any long Arborum session. Even at 300 Durability, a heavy mining run will work through a pickaxe.
Keep the Iron Pickaxe in rotation for routine Foothills mining; burning Ingot Arborum on Stone or Copper Ore is never worth it.
The Swamp Pickaxe can still hit every low-tier node type, so a single pickaxe is enough for a one-stop gathering run once you are past the Foothills ore chain.
