Swamp Creature's Tooth is a Rare / Epic club-class melee weapon in Windrose. This weapon can not only stun, but also bite while it's at it, leaving terrible lacerations behind.
Clubs are one-handed blunt Crude weapons that scale with Strength. Clubs cannot Perfect Block, so club builds lean into heavy-stagger hits, posture damage, and Strength-stat bonuses.
Field | Value |
|---|---|
Weapon Class | |
Rarity | Rare / Epic |
Damage | 280 Crude |
Scaling | Strength (B) |
ATK (Item Level 15) | 380 |
ATK (Level 1 crafted) | 100 |
Stack Size | 1 |
Flavor | How are these creatures still not extinct?! |
Rare and Epic variants share a base effect. Ascending the Rare to Epic at the Weaponsmith Workshop preserves the Rare effect and stacks an additional bonus on top.
Tier | Effect |
|---|---|
Rare | Critical Hits with this weapon no longer deal bonus Damage, but instead trigger a burst of Distortion, dealing Damage to all nearby enemies. |
Epic (adds) | The lower your remaining Health, the higher your Distortion Damage. |
Craft at the Weaponsmith Workshop (Level 1). Base recipe: Wood x10, Copper Ingot x3, Ingot Arborum x5.
Ascending the Rare variant at the Weaponsmith Workshop converts it into the Epic variant and unlocks the Epic bonus line. Ingredients: Swamp Creature's Tooth x1, Tumbaga Ingot x7. The ascension consumes the Rare weapon. See Tumbaga Ingot for sourcing notes and Upgrade System for the full ascension mechanic.
Drops from swamp creatures in the plague-affected Swamp biome.
Occasionally appears in plague crypt loot rotations.
Trades single-target crit damage for an AoE Distortion burst on every crit. The Epic scaling off low Health makes it a risk-reward weapon: it's strongest when you are at 10-30% HP, so it pairs well with Temporal Health sustain gear.
Trade-hit with heavy swings and stagger chains since clubs cannot Perfect Block. Keep an eye on posture bars because most club effects and talents compound when enemies are staggered rather than just damaged.
Strength-scaling weapons pull from the Strength and Mastery branches of the Talent System. Relevant picks include talents that boost Crude damage, two-handed melee damage, posture break on staggered enemies, and stamina-efficient heavy attacks. Strength weapons also pair well with the Crusher talent branch when it is available as a training option.
See the Talent System article for the current list of unlockable talents and their exact bonus values. Respeccing talents costs an in-game currency, so early-game branch commitments tend to lock in weapon pairings for the rest of the playthrough.
