Privateer's Doublet is the Rare chest piece of the Privateer's Regalia set in Windrose. The piece is tied to the People of Tortuga Provisioner. The plan unlocks at specific Reputation ranks with that faction; the Coat and Pants plans open at Rank 2 and the remaining pieces at higher ranks. Once the plan is unlocked, the piece is crafted at the Armor and Clothing Workshop like every other Rare armor piece. Privateer is the cloth set built around critical hits.

Rarity: Rare
Slot: Torso
Set: Privateer's Regalia (Privateer Set)
Weight: 2.0
Item Level: Base ilvl 1; scales to ilvl 11 through tier upgrades
"An elegant attire worn by captains. It's just as easy to deal lethal blows during a boarding operation as to strut about at the governor's reception."
Like all Rare and Uncommon armor, Privateer's Doublet has three crafting tiers that set its base Defense. Each tier can be upgraded several more levels at the Upgrading Station using the same recipe materials.
Item Level | Defense | Craft Tier |
|---|---|---|
1 | 100 DEF | Base tier |
6 | 200 DEF | Second tier (upgraded recipe) |
11 | 300 DEF | Third tier (top recipe) |
As the torso slot, the Doublet is the heaviest piece of the Privateer set at 2.0 weight and the anchor for its critical-hit bonuses. Defense values match the other cloth pieces tier for tier, so the set's protection scales with how many pieces you wear.
Requires the craft plan Plans: Privateer's Doublet to be unlocked first. The Plans: Privateer's Doublet is sold by the People of Tortuga Provisioner at Reputation Rank 2 for 200 Piastres; the Provisioner is reached by building reputation with the People of Tortuga.
Item Level | Station | Materials |
|---|---|---|
1 | 7 Coarse Fabric, 2 Rough Hide | |
6 | 7 Linen Fabric, 2 Tanned Leather, 1 Sewing Tools | |
11 |
As the chest piece, the Doublet uses noticeably more fabric than smaller slots: seven units of the tier's primary fabric versus two for boots or gloves. Each tier unlocks a new workshop attachment: the Shoemaker's Bench at ilvl 6 and the Material Rack at ilvl 11. Both attach to the Armor and Clothing Workshop and require its Bonfire coverage to function.
Privateer's Doublet counts toward the Privateer's Regalia set. Set bonuses apply globally once the stated number of pieces are equipped at the same time.
Pieces | Bonus |
|---|---|
2-piece | Increases Critical Hit Chance by 10%. |
4-piece | Increases Critical Damage by 10% for each nearby enemy, up to 30%. |
The Privateer bonuses make this the go-to set for critical builds. The 4-piece scales with the number of nearby enemies, so it rewards fighting in the thick of a crowd. It stacks well with a Necklace of Mastery for even more critical chance and with Precision weapons such as the Rapier or Pistols.
"We are not pirates. We are privateers. We have papers, seals, and good lawyers." (captain Benjamin Hornigold)
Counts as one piece toward the Privateer's Regalia 2-piece and 4-piece bonuses: pairing it with a second piece from the same set is usually the minimum to get value out of the plan.
Pair it with the Privateer's Pants to reach the 2-piece critical-chance bonus with the two cheapest-to-unlock slots.
Disassembling returns the base craft materials, Coarse Fabric and Rough Hide.
Privateer's Regalia: full set overview, build notes, and mixing tips.
Privateer's Pants, Privateer's Boots, Privateer's Gloves, and Privateer's Tricorne: the other pieces of the set.
Plans: Privateer's Coat: a related Privateer plan sold by the same faction.
Armor: Windrose armor system, slots, and rarity tiers.
Armor and Clothing Workshop: crafting station for every armor piece.
People of Tortuga: faction that sells the set plans.
