Add damage scaling per point, recommended allocation, and food buffs
Precision is the weapon-damage stat for ranged and technical melee. It scales Rapiers, Pistols, and Muskets the categories built around aimed shots, thrust combos, and long-range burst. Builds that keep range or stack rapid-thrust marks should prioritize Precision.
Rapier one-handed thrust melee with mark-building combos.
Pistol single-shot ranged weapon with fast reload.
Musket long-range scoped ranged weapon.
Rapier of a Thousand Cuts Epic rapier applying stacking Bleeding (up to 5 stacks, 25 damage/s per stack).
Rapier of Devastation Epic rapier that consumes Plague marks on Heavy Attacks; 5+ marks restores 40% Max HP.
Drake's Double-Barreled Pistol Epic pistol applying Vulnerability (+15% incoming damage).
Plague Pistol Epic pistol restoring 40% of dealt damage as Health.
Reliable Musket rare musket variant.
Sturdy Rapier rare rapier variant.
Buccaneer's Friend rare Precision weapon.
Marksman Set Marksman Set 4-piece adds +15% ranged damage, ideal for Pistol/Musket builds.
Flibustier Set 4-piece adds +15% one-handed damage, pairing with Rapiers.
Swamp Pie Epic dish granting +20 Precision for 30 minutes.
Precision follows the same soft-cap pattern as Agility and Strength. The first 1 to 5 points return the largest per-point damage gain on Precision-scaling weapons. Points 6 through 20 return a steady linear gain. Each point past 20 returns roughly half that value, so the most efficient stopping point for raw damage is 20 invested points, with further investment only after defensive stats are solid.
Investment Range | Per-Point Behavior |
|---|---|
1 to 5 | Highest per-point return. Every point is felt on Pistol shots and Rapier thrusts. |
6 to 20 | Linear growth. This is where most Precision builds spend the majority of their early levels. |
21 to 35 | Roughly half the per-point return. Late-game Marksman builds spend here once Vitality and Endurance are at their planned floors. |
Past 35 | Edge-case territory. Returns are real but small relative to the same points spent on Mastery for crit chance. |
Precision is the easiest stat to over-invest in because the build can feel under-tuned without high numbers, but the soft cap punishes blind dumping. The community-tested baseline is to take Precision to 20 first, then balance Vitality and Endurance, and only push Precision past the cap once a build can comfortably survive boss attack rotations.
Build Goal | Suggested Allocation |
|---|---|
Rapier-and-Pistol duelist | Precision 20 to 25, Vitality 10, Endurance 10, plus 5 to 8 in Mastery for crit windows during Bleed stacks |
Reliable Musket marksman | Precision 30 to 35, Vitality 10, Endurance 0 to 5, Mastery 5 (range plays do not need stamina pool the same way melee does) |
Hybrid Precision tank | Precision 20, Vitality 20, Endurance 10, plus armor 4-set bonus carrying the survivability load |
The two most-stacked Precision foods are Swamp Pie (+20 Precision) and Banana Muffin (+10 Precision). Stacked together, the +30 effective Precision boost means a 20-invested character pulls Marksman-tier numbers during the buff window. Pair with Infused Elixir of Concentration (+30% Critical Damage) for the ranged-burst loadout the Marksman tree was built around.
Two core build loops sit on top of Precision. The first is the Pistol-into-Rapier loop: open with a Pistol shot to apply Vulnerability, swap to a Rapier (typically the Rapier of a Thousand Cuts), and stack five Bleed instances before swapping to a Sturdy Rapier or a second Pistol round. The second is the Reliable Musket sniper loop: stack Precision food buffs, take Sniper's Focus from the Marksman tree, and burst from range with the Musket between Pistol off-hand shots. Both loops are linear at 20 Precision and continue scaling, more slowly, toward 35.
