Plans: Pistol

Expanded the basic Pistol plan with a Weapon Unlocked section explaining the one-handed firearm class and Gunpowder use, the Weaponsmith crafting and upgrade path, and the Firearm

Plans: Pistol is a Recipe Papers item that teaches the basic Pistol crafting recipe. The unlocked pistol fires a soft, low-recoil shot. The in-game flavor calls it a forgiving sidearm: what is better than one shot? Two shots. It fires gentle, with hardly any kick. Just make sure you reload in time.
Reading the plan adds the basic Pistol recipe to your Crafting workshop. The recipe is consumed on read; the recipe itself stays with the character.

The plan teaches the basic Pistol, a one-handed firearm and the entry point into the Pistols class. Pistols use a single hand, so they pair with a one-handed melee weapon such as a Saber or Rapier for a dual-threat loadout, and they scale toward Precision builds. Like every firearm, the pistol consumes Gunpowder as ammunition.
The basic pistol is the starter sidearm; stronger named variants such as the Reliable Pistol, Drake's Double-Barreled Pistol, and Plague Pistol come from their own plans. Exact damage and scaling values for the basic pistol are not listed on the live item pages, so they are left out here rather than guessed; the Ranged Weapons index carries the confirmed firearm numbers as they are documented.
Once the plan is read, the pistol recipe appears at the Weaponsmith Workshop, the bench that builds and upgrades every personal firearm, under the Personal Weapons and Ship Fittings category. Firearms follow the shared upgrade-band path, swapping in Hardwood, Foothills Iron Ingot, and Mire Metal Ingot as the weapon levels up through the Upgrade System.
The Firearm Training talent in the Marksman branch adds flat ranged damage to every shot from a pistol, Musket, or blunderbuss, so a pistol main usually invests there early.
Plans: Pistol is one of the more common Recipe Papers drops, found in pirate-camp loot, beach wreck chests, and starter shipwrecks. It is one of the few combat plans a new character is likely to roll inside the first few hours.
