Where to Find

Plague Wood is harvested from plague-corrupted trees deep inside the Cursed Swamps. The corrupted trees are visually distinct from the swamp's normal vegetation: pale bark, twisted trunks, and sickly growth patterns. They cluster in specific swamp zones, so marking one productive stand on the map usually pays off across multiple runs.

Because the Cursed Swamps is a late-game biome crowded with hostile creatures, most players bring a high-tier axe (iron or a Mire Metal upgrade) to shorten each chop and reduce exposure time. Lower-tier axes will still fell the trees but at a noticeable speed penalty.

From Plague Wood to Ingot Arborum

Plague Wood is the front end of the endgame enchanting pipeline. The chain runs:

• Smelt Plague Wood at a Smelting Furnace to produce Essence Arborum.

• Combine 1 Mire Metal Ingot, 2 Essence Arborum, and 1 Tainted Bile at the Enchanting Table to craft Ingot Arborum, the launch build's top-tier enchanted ingot.

Because Mire Metal Ingots and Tainted Bile are also gated behind Cursed Swamps content, plan Plague Wood trips so you gather all three components on the same run instead of returning to the biome three separate times.
