A large pillar made of timber.
Category: Pillars and Beams, Pillars
Large Pillar (Timber) is a tall vertical support in the timber tier of base building. Pillars carry the weight of roofs, upper floors, and long beam runs, letting you raise open, multi-storey structures without filling every span with walls. The large variant stands a full storey taller than the standard Pillar (Timber), so a single piece reaches an upper floor or a high roofline in one placement.
It costs two Wood, builds in one second, and has 1,500 max health, higher than the 1,000 baseline of most clay walls, which reflects its load-bearing role. Wood is one of the first materials you gather in Windrose, chopped from trees in the Coastal Jungle, so timber pillars are cheap to spam for early scaffolding and frames.

This piece is unlocked by reading the recipe paper Plans: Timber Pillars, Beams, and Fences, which adds the matching timber framework pieces to your build menu. The plan is read once and is permanent for that character. Companion pieces in the same set let you build a full timber frame: the standard Pillar (Timber) for shorter spans, the Beam (Timber) and Large Beam (Timber) for horizontal runs, and timber fences for boundaries.
Place a Large Pillar (Timber) where you need a tall single support: under a raised roof apex, at the corners of an open-sided dock or watchtower, or as a column inside a hall where a wall would block movement. Pillars snap to foundations and to beams in the same building system, so a frame of large pillars topped with beams creates floor and roof anchor points before any walls go up. For sturdier or higher-tier columns, the same slot can later be filled with stone options such as Pillar (Stone); for a rough early look, Pillar (Log) is an alternative. Keep load-bearing pillars inside the protected core of a base, since exposed supports take damage during combat and raids.
