The Iron Tray is a small Dishes decoration in Windrose, described in-game as elegant dishes stolen from a governor's table during a daring sea raid. Like the other pieces in the set, it is a cosmetic table item that raises the comfort of your camp rather than a tool or container you interact with directly.
The Iron Tray only counts while it sits within range of a lit Bonfire. Placed inside that radius it contributes to the Comfort System; placed outside it, or with the fire unlit, it provides nothing.
It grants Comfort +1 in the Dishes category. This bonus does not stack, so setting out several pieces of iron tableware together does not raise the Dishes comfort beyond the single category bonus. One piece in range is enough to secure the rating; the rest are purely decorative.

The Foothills Iron Ingot used here is refined from Foothills Iron Ore gathered in the Foothills. Because every piece in this set shares the same five-ingot cost, it is worth smelting a stack of ingots in one trip if you plan to furnish a full table.

The Iron Tray is unlocked by the Decoration: Elegant Iron Utensils plan, which teaches a matching set of iron tableware. The pieces below share the same five Foothills Iron Ingot cost, the same 3,000 max health, and the same +1 Dishes comfort. They are interchangeable for the comfort bonus, so pick the ones that fit your table layout. The full set is listed here for cross-reference:
Other iron tableware also appears in the Dishes category and follows the same comfort rules. Browse the Decorations index for the complete list of table items.
Keep it near the fire. Only decorations inside the Bonfire radius are counted, so cluster your comfort items around the camp's fire rather than scattering them.
Do not over-build. Because the Dishes bonus does not stack, a single piece secures the +1. Extra copies are for looks only and still cost five ingots each.
Mix categories for more comfort. To raise overall comfort, combine this with decorations from other categories rather than duplicating Dishes pieces, since each category contributes its own separate bonus through the Comfort System.
Durable but breakable. With 3,000 max health it can absorb stray hits, but like any built object it can still be destroyed, so place valuables inside a protected camp.
The Iron Tray is part of a crafting and comfort progression rather than a standalone collectible. Learn the Decoration: Elegant Iron Utensils plan, prepare a supply of Foothills Iron Ingot, then build the piece inside Bonfire range to claim its Dishes comfort. The recipe, plan, and comfort rows above show what unlocks it, what it consumes, and how it contributes to your camp.
