Overview

Dodo Broth is an Uncommon-tier cooked dish in Windrose. A delicate single-ingredient broth made from Bird Meat. It grants a Max Health increase for 15 minutes, with no secondary stat bonus. Because it takes just one ingredient and can be cooked from the first Dodo kill, it is often the first cooked food a new character prepares.

Buff and Duration

Recipe

Dodo Broth has the simplest recipe of any cooked dish at launch. Bird Meat drops from Coastal Jungle Dodos (including the Azure Dodo variant), and a single unit produces one Dodo Broth at a base Cooking Fire.

Role in the Meta

Dodo Broth is the Uncommon Max-HP dish that precedes Pastechi. Because the buff is Max HP only (no secondary stat), Dodo Broth is effectively eclipsed once Bacon and Eggs (+5 Vitality, Uncommon) is reachable: Bacon and Eggs also uses a Dodo Egg, which is farmed from the same Dodo nest routes as Bird Meat, and the +5 Vitality buff adds significantly more effective HP than Dodo Broth's base Max HP bump. Keep Dodo Broth in rotation only when you have spare Bird Meat but no eggs.

Since Dodo Broth carries no stat, it does not conflict with a stat-buff dish in the second food slot. Until a better Max HP option is unlocked, you can run Dodo Broth alongside a stat food such as Tamale for +5 Mastery and still benefit from both slots at once.

Ingredient Sourcing

• Bird Meat: dropped when butchering Coastal Jungle Dodos. Ancient Ruin routes on the starter island are the densest Dodo farm; see Hunting for respawn tips.

Rarity Note

Dodo Broth sits in the Uncommon tier. An earlier version of this page listed it as Common; current in-game data confirms the Uncommon classification, which is why it shares the 15-minute buff window and Cooking Fire requirement with the other Uncommon dishes rather than the shorter Common buffs.
