Fixed garbled item names (Insignia) and a typo, rewrote the intro, added an Overview and Farming Notes section, and corrected internal links.
Blackbeard Sailor is the rank-and-file foot soldier of Blackbeard's crew in Windrose. Blackbeard's organization is the dominant pirate power on the map, and Sailors are its most common members.
Sailors appear at camps and outposts and during boarding actions against player ships. They are a Living human enemy, not undead, and carry no native armor, which makes them the easiest pirate to cut down with a basic Saber or other Slash weapon.
Combat stats are not yet in the public data export for this crew variant; HP, Defence, and per-attack values are pending. The loot table below is confirmed from the export, and the combat-profile notes reflect observed behavior in the current build.
The Quantity column shows the stack size awarded when the drop rolls, and Chance shows the probability per kill.

Exact spawn coordinates are not yet confirmed in the public data, but Sailors are encountered wherever Blackbeard's crew gathers: pirate camps, outposts, and the decks of enemy ships during boarding. The recommended-gear ranges below place them across the early and mid biomes, from the Coastal Jungle through the Foothills. Loot table data is confirmed from the current build.
Property | Value |
|---|---|
Category | Pirate crew enemy (Blackbeard-led foot soldier) |
Traits | Human, Living, Outlaw |
Defence | Baseline pirate template (no native armor) |
Recommended gear tier | 1 to 5 (Coastal Jungle) up to 6 to 10 (Foothills) |
Respawn | Yes, on camp reset |
Lowest-priority target in mixed pirate camps. Kill Sergeants and Musketeers first; Sailors can be parried with a standard one-handed weapon and finished with a pistol shot.
On enemy ship decks during boarding, Sailors are the most numerous target. Use Slash weapons for effective damage against unarmored crew.
The 80% chance of a single Homemade Gunpowder drop makes Sailors the weakest pirate for gunpowder farming. Musketeer enemies (2 to 4 Gunpowder guaranteed) and Grenadier enemies (4 to 6 guaranteed) are better targets. Sailors are still worth clearing for their Newhand Insignia and Deckhand Insignia turn-ins and the reliable Nuts and Rum Bottle food drops.

Despite the Blackbeard affiliation, the base Sailor enemy is a Living human pirate, not an Undead crew member. Hotfix 0.10.0.2.54 did not address Sailor behavior directly; the combat profile is unchanged through current patch 0.10.0.3.104.
