Creature design philosophy
The creatures of Vale Sangora draw from Eastern European folklore, specifically Polish, Romanian, Ukrainian, and Balkan traditions. Rather than importing standard fantasy bestiary entries, Rebel Wolves has grounded its monsters in the myths of the Carpathian Mountains. Many of the creatures described in Zdislav's folklore stories correspond to confirmed enemy types.
Vampires
The dominant supernatural presence in the game. See Vrakhiri for the ancient vampire lords and vampire mythology for the lore behind how vampires work in this world. Standard vampires possess powers like Shadowstep and are created through the fang-to-heart turning ritual.

Murohni
Failed vampire transformations. When a vampire fang breaks off during feeding and lodges somewhere in the victim's body other than the heart, the vital energy inside the tooth explodes all at once, violently deforming the host into a blood-thirsty beast. Murohni are mindless, lack self-preservation, and eventually wander into sunlight and burn to ash. They possess an unstable version of Shadowstep. The Gamescom 2025 demo featured a murohni called "The Almshouse Monstrosity" as an encounter in Svartrau's cathedral catacombs.
Uriashi
Mountain folk with curled horns and large builds. The uriashi kept to themselves for centuries, living in remote rock huts and caves in the high mountains. Since the vampire takeover, their situation has split. Some now wear vampire colors and enforce Brencis's regime, while others remain independent and are simply curious about the lowlanders. They correspond to the "horned mountain beasts" from Zdislav's folklore.
Kobolds
Underground creatures that inhabit the silver mines throughout the mountains. Coen grew up working in these mines, so kobold encounters take him back to familiar territory, though the mines are now far more dangerous than when he was just a miner. Kobolds were confirmed during the January 2026 Reddit AMA.
Likho
Also called Likhosai. A creature type drawn from Slavic folklore, where the likho is a one-eyed personification of evil fate and misfortune. Specific in-game details about how they appear and fight have not been revealed, but they were confirmed as an enemy type.

Psoglavi
Dog-headed creatures from Serbian and South Slavic mythology. In folklore, psoglav (literally "dog-head") were monstrous beings with iron teeth, a single eye, and horse legs. Their in-game implementation has not been shown in detail, but they were listed among confirmed creature types.
Undead
Found in ancient ruins throughout Vale Sangora. The undead appear to be distinct from vampires and murohni. They are associated with the ruins that predate the vampire takeover rather than with the vampire power structure.
From folklore
Zdislav's stories mentioned additional creatures that may appear in the game: tiny forest folk with cat's eyes, forked tongues, and teeth like needles; lizards the size of horses burrowing in peat bogs; pale wraiths among moonlit peaks; and ancient ruins filled with bubbling blood. Not all of these have been confirmed as enemy types, but the overlap between Zdislav's tales and the confirmed bestiary is consistent enough to suggest most will appear in some form.
