Streets of Rogue 2 is an open-world sandbox RPG and roguelike where players topple a corrupt president any way they choose. Built by solo developer Matt Dabrowski and published by tinyBuild, it spans a procedurally generated island nation, supports solo and co-op play, and is currently planned to release into Early Access at a date to be announced.
Streets of Rogue 2 ships with a large roster of character classes that each play very differently, plus the option to create a custom character. Not all classes will be available the moment Early Access begins.
Vehicles are one of Streets of Rogue 2's main open-world systems. Cars, boats, and rideable animals all serve as travel options, with phone-booth teleportation planned to round out fast travel.
Streets of Rogue 2's open world is a single procedurally generated island nation roughly 10,000 times the size of a level from the first game, built from handcrafted chunks and stitched together at runtime.
Streets of Rogue 2's open world is populated by dozens of distinct animal species that each behave differently. Several dozen animals are planned for the Early Access launch, with more added in later content updates.
Streets of Rogue 2 is a much larger and more ambitious game than the original Streets of Rogue. This page summarizes the major differences the developer has stated.
