Goldspike Blend is a Juicer drink recipe in Starsand Island made from 12 Wheat. It restores 98 stamina and grants the On the House buff, which gives you a chance to receive a full refund after purchasing a scratch card. The buff lasts for 120 seconds and does not stack, so eating additional servings only resets the timer.
The recipe is available by default from the start of the game, meaning no Farmer Trial completion or recipe purchase is required. Because its only ingredient is Wheat, one of the cheapest and most accessible crops in the game, Goldspike Blend is easy to produce in bulk. It is primarily useful for players who regularly visit the Chrono Arcade to play scratch card machines.

Goldspike Blend is one of only two Juicer recipes that use raw Wheat directly instead of processed Flour. The other is Suncloud Sip, which requires 12 Wheat plus 1 Corn and provides the Double Loot buff instead. Both drinks consume 12 Wheat per batch, making them the most Wheat-intensive recipes in the game.
The On the House buff activates immediately when you consume a Goldspike Blend. While the buff is active, every scratch card you purchase at the Chrono Arcade has a chance to refund the full Token cost of the card. This means you can potentially scratch a card, collect any winnings, and also get your Tokens back.
The buff lasts for 120 seconds of real in-game time. It cannot be stacked by eating multiple Goldspike Blends; consuming a second serving simply resets the 2-minute timer. Because scratch card sessions tend to be short, a single serving usually provides enough time to cover a full batch of card purchases.
On the House is one of three scratch card-related food buffs in the game. Each targets a different aspect of the scratch card experience:
Recipe | Buff | Effect | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
Goldspike Blend | On the House | Chance to get a full refund after buying a scratch card | 120s |
Scratch Master | Adds 1 lucky number, boosting win rates with a chance for a full refund on payout | 120s | |
Big Winner | Increases earnings from scratch cards | 120s |
Since only one buff can be active at a time, you cannot combine On the House with Scratch Master or Big Winner. Choose the buff that best fits your strategy. On the House is best when you want to stretch your Token budget by getting free card purchases. Scratch Master is better when you want to improve your actual winning odds. Big Winner is the pick when you want to maximize the payout from each winning card.
Goldspike Blend is a default recipe, which means it is already unlocked in your Juicer crafting menu from the moment you build the station. There is no recipe scroll to find, no quest to complete, and no shop purchase required. As long as you have a Juicer and 12 Wheat, you can start making Goldspike Blend right away.
The Juicer itself is unlocked by purchasing its blueprint from the Aureleaf Kitchen as you progress through the Crafter profession. Once you have the Juicer built and placed on your Hopeland, all default drink recipes (including Goldspike Blend) appear automatically in the recipe list.
Goldspike Blend requires 12 Wheat per batch. Wheat is a Starter-tier farmland crop that grows in all four seasons, so it never goes out of rotation. Seeds cost 50 Coins from the Happiness Seed Shop and each plant takes 18 hours to mature, yielding 4 Wheat per harvest.
At 4 Wheat per plant, you need to harvest 3 Wheat plants to produce a single Goldspike Blend. That means 3 seeds at 150 Coins total for one drink that sells for 212 Coins, leaving a small margin of 62 Coins before factoring in the buff value.
Dedicate farmland rows: Set aside 9 to 12 farmland tiles specifically for Wheat if you plan to make Goldspike Blend regularly. This gives you 3 to 4 drinks per harvest cycle.
Automate watering: Place sprinklers near your Wheat rows so you do not have to water manually every day.
Use fertilizer: Ripening Fertilizer I cuts 8 hours off the 18-hour growth time, letting you get harvests faster. At the Apprentice Farmer tier, a bag of 5 costs 15 Coins.
Grinder for seeds: At the Senior Farmer tier, the Grinder can convert harvested Wheat back into seeds, removing the 50 Coin seed cost from future plantings entirely.
Goldspike Blend is not primarily a money-making recipe. Its sell price of 212 Coins is modest compared to other Juicer drinks. The recipe's real value comes from the On the House buff, which can save you Tokens at the Chrono Arcade. Here is how the economics break down:
Metric | Value |
|---|---|
Seed cost (3 plants) | 150 Coins |
Raw Wheat value (12 x 16g) | 192 Coins |
Sell price (Goldspike Blend) | 212 Coins |
Profit over raw Wheat | +20 Coins |
Profit over seed cost | +62 Coins |
Juicer multiplier | 1.105x (included in 212g price) |
If you sell Goldspike Blend on the Merchant Ship when it docks at Starsand Port, the price doubles to 424 Coins per serving. This makes the drink more profitable if you batch-produce and stockpile for ship sales.
For pure profit, other Juicer drinks outperform Goldspike Blend. Chilled Bayberry Juice sells for 1,079 Coins and Golden Lemonade for 832 Coins. However, those drinks require rarer or more expensive ingredients. Goldspike Blend's advantage is that it uses only Wheat, one of the cheapest crops in the game.
The following Juicer drinks share ingredients or a similar role with Goldspike Blend:
Drink | Ingredients | Sell Price | Buff | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Goldspike Blend | Wheat x12 | +98 | 212g | On the House |
+136 | 400g | Double Loot | ||
Green Grape x2 | +98 | 210g | Bonus Ore | |
Red Grape x2 | +98 | 210g | Bonus Timber | |
+115 | 295g | Scratch Master |
Suncloud Sip is the closest comparison because it uses the same 12 Wheat base. Adding a single Corn raises the stamina restoration from 98 to 136, nearly doubles the sell price to 400 Coins, and swaps the buff to Double Loot. If you are not specifically after the On the House buff, Suncloud Sip is generally the better recipe for your Wheat.
Eat before entering the arcade: Consume a Goldspike Blend right before walking into the Chrono Arcade so that the full 120-second buff window covers your scratch card session.
Multi-panel cards get more value: Multi-panel scratch cards cost 10 Tokens each instead of 5. Getting a full refund on a multi-panel card saves twice as many Tokens, so the buff is more impactful on the more expensive cards.
Stack with Merchant Ship sales: If you grow extra Wheat beyond what you need for the On the House buff, blend the surplus into Goldspike Blend and sell it on the Merchant Ship for 424 Coins per serving.
Consider Suncloud Sip instead: If you do not need the scratch card buff, adding 1 Corn to your 12 Wheat makes a Suncloud Sip worth 400 Coins instead of 212 Coins. Always use the Suncloud Sip recipe when you are cooking for profit rather than for the buff.
Keep a few on hand: Since Wheat grows year-round and the recipe is available from the start, there is no reason not to keep a small stock of Goldspike Blend in your inventory for whenever you visit the arcade.
One buff at a time: Remember that consuming any buff food replaces your current buff. Do not eat Goldspike Blend if you have an active farming or combat buff you need to keep.
